Clarify something for me please...

I have been MIA on the Disboards lately b/c of a crazy busy life but I'm back trying to get things in order for another trip and I have a quick question...I may have forgotten the answer to this or just never knew it so excuse me if it is an obvious answer!

I see lots of people booking trip packages (room, tix, etc.) at WDW in hopes of getting Free Dining in April...how does that help? Am I wrong that if FD comes out in April then they will have a certain number of rooms reserved for that promo and that anyone who has booked an earlier trip will have to cancel that trip and rebook?? So...what is the benefit of doing the early booking of a trip if you do not intend on paying full price for a trip?

I understand someone booking a trip and then "if" they get a FD pin they can apply it but I don't get booking a trip ahead for the FD promo that typically comes out in April for DV and GP...what am I missing?

I think that what people are doing is making there plans for a time when Free Dining is usually given in hopes that it will be offered.

If it does come out, yes, they will have to call and ask that the discount be applied to the current reservations. In some cases, there is not need to cancel/rebook (especially if someone calls as soon as it is announced).

That happened to me a few years back. I was alredy booked. Called and they applied the code.

Of course, there is always the possibility that there will be no availability and changes will need to be made, but I would assume that anyone who is planning it this way will be among the first to call CRO, if and when it happens.

Ohhh...okay...so that is what I was wondering...

You can call and apply the FD code that comes out for the gen. public instead of having to re-book the whole trip...right? Then it all makes sense...

Currently, we are booked w/ a bounceback trip for FD for Sept. at the SSR w/ the 30% discount too but we are realllllly thinking about changing to the pirate room (we will lose the 30% discount) w/ the FD...just thinking off all crazy option!

Also, some people have received a Free Dining Pin in the mail already and have been booking these. The dates are running August 16th-October 1st. So, you may have been seeing this on the boards and not people booking in hopes of Free Dining.
