Clarification on Developer Points

If I am using 15 Developer Points and the remainder 2008 points to book a room this December, am I allowed to waitlist? Or can you not have any developer points at all as part of the reservation if you want to waitlist?

MS told me you could not use developer points at all if you were waitlisting, or if it was more than 7 months out. I have a December ressie that I used regular points for, and at my 7 month window I plan on calling on trying to switch some of my points used for that for my developer points. Hope it works! The CM I spoke with when I made my original reservation seemed to think that was doable.
