My family and I are leaving tomorrow for WDW, staying at WL, our first trip. My husband's birthday is Sunday, also the big Steelers game at 3pm, and we have priority seating for the Clambake at the Beach Club. The game probably won't be over until 6ish. Still wanting to celebrate his birthday should I bag the clambake and head to one of the restaurants at the WL? Many thanks for your thoughts!

Significantly different experiences. The clambake is more casual and a buffet, while Artist point is signature dining in an upscale atmosphere with wine pairings available. Both are very good but if you are looking for casual and liad back you might want to check out whispering canyon. While it is not a buffet, they do have an option for an all you care to eat skillett.

I LOVE Artist Point, it is one of my favorite places to eat, I would definitely choose that over the Clambake. Like the pp said, Artist Point is a formal dinner (not quite as formal as California Grill, but right up there), very good food (I recommend the salmon and the berry cobbler) and excellent service. The restaurant is quiet, and very relaxing, but not laid back, like a buffet or Whispering Canyon can be. Also, dinner is a pretty drawn out affair, we ate there last week and dinner took about a little over 2 hours, so if you are in a hurry, you may want to dine elsewhere. Whispering Canyon is good and lots of fun, but they are 2 different types of restaurants. I hope this helps some.

Oh, and GO STEELERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
