I was thinking of trying the Clambake on our next trip. I have not heard too much about it. Does anyone have any feelings about it, good or bad? I love love love seafood and we will be including the dining plan with our vacation package. If you don't really care for it, do you have any other suggestions?

I liked it, but you have to be able to work with the shells. Not easy to do for all. Food good, service good, tables pretty close together. Forced to eat slowly, not a bad idea.

The clambake and the character breakfast at that same restaurant are the best buffets I have ever been too...delicious!!:thumbsup2

We love the Clambake!!! :thumbsup2 It is one of our must-do's each trip. As a matter of fact, we have ADR's for dinner twice during our 9 night stay. We're also doing the breakfast for the first time during our next stay.
My teenage boys are picky eaters and they have no problem finding things they like on the buffet. ;)

The Clambake is pretty good. Being from Maine, I'm a little spoiled.

I wouldn't do it again, but then I can go to one every weekend in the summer. It's worth the price IMO.

Love it! It's on our must-do list.

The atmosphere is upscale and bright, yet comfortable. If you don't like the steamed seafood, there are many other choices. The ribs and New England clam chowder (which tastes like it has real cream) are always great. The salad bar is awesome. Last two times we ate there, they served a refreshing salad of radicchio, almonds and citrus vinaigrette. Good Caesar too. Last trip, they had a salmon teriyaki that was to-die-for!

We like the steamed seafood too. Try the flavored butters they serve, like the tomato butter or garlic butter. Yum! The clams and mussels are obviously cultivated since they are very clean (an advantage of cultivating them), but not very meaty (drawback of cultivation).

Desserts are really great too. Take note of the separate dessert station on your way in. It's separate from the rest of the buffet and has all the miniature cakes. It's where you'll find the key lime tartlets and Oreo bon-bons that I highly recommend. :thumbsup2

My husband and I went to the Clam Bake on our honeymoon and loved it! He's not a fan of clams or mussels, but he was able to find plenty to eat. When we were there, they also had crab legs (not sure if they are served all of the time though) which were great. It was worth every penny and we will return again! :)

We've been to Cape May 3-4 times and I wouldn't call it a destination restaurant at all.....

We have been here 6 times and loved it every time, the food (both seafood and non) is very good

We often stay at BC and CMC is a must-do for dinner and breakfast every trip.

We didn't enjoy the clam bake at all and wouldn't go back. I thought it was going to be a seafood buffet, but it had just as much seafood as any of the buffets had. I didn't find that there selections were that great. And our waitress wasn't so great, didn't remove used plates, fill up drinks, etc.
