We were up at 7am today, down for breakfast by 7.45. All the kids ate well, and there were 4 or 5 choices of breakfast cereal, then there was melon slices, pineapple, followed by dices ham and cheese. There were croissants, bread rolls, jams, butter and a selection of yogurts. You could also have an English breakfast, however you had to pay extra for this, although it did look nice. The milk for the cereal is the same milk used for the coffee and is situated in a machine by the drinks dispensers which created in along queue for milk, and obviously there was the usual queue jumpers!!! There was no tea that we saw to drink just coffee or fruit juices.
The restaurant did get very busy after 8am which people coming in with food but being unable to get a table so I would recommend getting there before 8am. No-one checked the breakfast tickets we are given at reception either, you just have to put them in a basket at the entrance.
After breakfast we headed back to the room to get the camcorder and camera, money and tickets for the parks. We then headed to the bus stop. We got the bus at approx 9.15 and it was fairly quiet.
When we arrived at the station we walked through the bag check area, with hardly any queuing , then it was down to the entrance. The kids had abit of problem getting the gist of putting the ticket in the machine and having to take it back and push the barrier down to walk through it and there was abit of muttering from some impatient people behind us but we got there in the end. By this time it was around 9.45 and we were walking down Main Street taking it all in, the kids were all buzzing and trying to run in different directions so we were trying to keep them all in check to stop them from getting lost as there was a lot of people milling around.
When we came to Caseys hot dog shore we just had to take a picture with the eldest DSD underneath as her name is Casey. Then we made our way towards the castle as all the kids wanted to go to Fantasyland first. We waited for 10am to come in front of the castle and took some pictures. Once the crush had dispersed we made our way through the castle and up the stairs to the first floor to explore. I saw the window that changes from a rose to 2 doves and pointed it out to everyone else as they had missed it. We didnt realise that we could go out onto the roof until the next day!!!
After wed walked around we made our way back down stairs (they are quiet dark) and our first ride of the day was Snow White ..we walked straight on as no queue, although it wasnt quiet what we were all expecting ..it was quiet scary for my DD in places and she wasnt keen at all and couldnt wait to get off!!!
They soon cheered up when we made our way to the Carousel. Again we walked straight on .we all managed to get on a horse except my OH or decided to stand next to a horse, he claimed his horse had disappeared !!!! I managed to bruise my leg quiet badly on this ride, my own fault I didnt climb up probably before I tried to swing my leg over the seat!!!! We all enjoyed this ride and the girls were singing a song from Mary Poppins lol Although my OH did look abit green when we got off, hes not good with rides that go round in circles lol
Next stop was Dumbo, we queued for about 10mins for this ride so not too bad. Again we all went on and all the kids loved it, my OH was looking greener by the minute and I wasnt too keen when my DD took dumbo high up as our seats were creaking quiet a lot!!!
To allow my OH to recover we made our way to Alices Maze, which we managed to get round quiet quickly, although at one stage we were going in the opposite direction to everyone else!!! We exited the Maze and who did we see but Alice herself and the Mad Hatter, so out came the Autograph books and pens and the kids waited to get there autographs. My OH now has a crush on Alice bless lol but she was very chatty with the children asking them what they had been doing and if they were having a nice time.
We also saw Winne the Pooh and Eeyore but the queues were too massive so we didnt attempt to meet them.
The girls then all decided they wanted to go on the Tea Cups, my OH bowed out of this one offering to go and get the fast pass tickets for the Peter Pan ride. So I queued with the girls, again it was only a short queue, 10 mins max. They all went into one cup and I quietly disappeared out of the exit and left them to it lol Thats one ride I will not go on, my stomach carnt take it!!!
Next stop was Its a Small World ..again the queue was fairly small and we only waited a short time .this is a fantastic ride and one we all enjoyed, although the song is still going round in my head!!!!!
It was now nearly time for Peter Pan so we made our way over to the ride and waited outside it for 10 mins before our fast passes kicked in. We joined the fast pass queue which moved quiet quickly but I was glad we had used the fast pass as the normal queue waiting time was over 40 mins!!! This ride is great, although very dark and it is difficult to see every thing as it is quiet a fast ride. Again all the kids loved it .we must be doing something right with picking these rides!!!!
After this the girls wanted to go on Pinnochio so we made our way over but unfortunately it was closed due to technical problems. So instead we had a break and some lunch. We made our way back up Main Street as we had forgotten to get a map when we first got to the park!!! We stopped off at Market House Deli when the kids all had Mickey Pizza, I had a roasted vegetable roll and OH had a salami and salad roll. It was all nice, nothing special and we decided not to eat there again.
After we had eaten we went to Town Hall and I got a map and we then decided to go on the Disney Express Train. This was the longest queue of the day so far, we waited nearly 30 mins for this train. We had intended to go all the way round the parks but decided to get off in Adventure Land as OH wanted to go on Pirates of the Caribbean. Near to the entrance we had a quick glimpse of Jack Sparrow but he disappeared before we could get to him, so we joined the queue. The walk along to this ride is very long and very dark in places so it was abit difficult to manoeuvre four kids in the dark, especially considering DD didnt want to go on the ride in the first place!! We must have queued for about 20 mins although it did seem longer, possibly because of standing in the dark and there being 4 lines of people. The drops (log flume type drops) were abit of a surprise because you couldnt see them coming, however the lighting set the atmosphere and it was enjoyed by all of us except DD, who is only 4yrs old. OH said it was his favourite ride so far!!!
Once our of there we had a walk around Adventure Land however the kids didnt want to go on any of the other rides so we let them play on Pirates Beach for a little while as it was 3pm by this time and we wanted to get a good spot for the Parade at 4.
At 3.30 we headed back to Main Street to get a good spot for the Once Upon a Dream Parade, we decided to wait in front of the castle, there werent many people there at that time so we were right at the edge of the pavement and had a fantastic view of the floats. The parade started from the right hand side of the castle (as you look at it, near the entrance to Discovery land). All the floats looked magnificent and the walking characters all interacted well with the kids. The parade was magical and all the girls agreed that the princess float was there favourite, although my DD was abit concerned that Ariel didnt have her prince with her that day.
After the parade had finished the weather turned for the worst and it began to rain so we decided to go and get an ice cream. We stopped at The Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlour and hoped that the rang would soon stop. I think everyone else had the same idea as us as the queue was horrendous. The service was very slow, only 2 people behind the counter and the queue was out the door. We eventually got serviced and the ice creams were lovely, Ben & Jerrys. We stood outside under the cover eating our ice-creams but the rain didnt want to stop. We had intended to watch the Candleabrations however due to the rain decided against this and made our way out of the park at around 5.50pm.
We headed for Disney Village for something to eat and drink, and decided on Annettes Diner. We were seated very quickly upstairs and our order was taken. The girls all had Mini hot dogs and fries, I opted for the Be Bob burger and my OH had a Mega burger .The portions were large but the food was very nice and couldnt be faulted. The girls kept there Frisbee plates and DD took her menu home after it had been converted into a car.
After eating we made our way out of Disney Village as it was still raining and headed back to the hotel. We didnt have long to wait for a shuttle bus, and whilst it was quiet busy we all managed to squeeze on the first bus that came along.
When we got back to the hotel my OH and I were flagging but the kids still had energy to expel so they played in Scally wags and on the pirate ship and made other friends, and enemies while we crank a couple of pints of lager to relax!!!! One word of warning the play areas are not supervised and a few of the bigger kids to get over zealous which results in a few bruises!!
After an hour or so it was time for bed as it was gonna be another early morning!!!
