Claire & Chris-getting hitched Disney style 5th Oct 2011.I'm a Mrs!!

So cute! Can't wait for the pics!

My DH has a palladium ring too. It pretty much looks just like platinum to the naked eye but is a much better price. :cool1:

Thanks Melissa. I love 1950's style dresses so it was a no brainer for me. I think I'm going to buy a few more dresses in that style to wear on our Disneymoon. I'm thinking red with white polka dots- very Minnie!

I LOVE 1950s style dresses, too! I got married 5 months after my engagement so I didn't have time to really plan for that dream wedding. It's wonderful that you're having just want you want!!

Maybe you could have a VW somewhere down the rd. I'm sure that your day was absolutely perfect even without too much planning time. I wish my wedding was sooner. Too much planning time might drive me nuts!:goodvibes

Hi ladies :goodvibes

I'm feeling really groggy and under the weather today  (Moan over with), but I heard there was a wedding fayre on near me so off I trotted. Chris is working all weekend so I went on my own. Well, let me tell you, I felt like the bridal lepper! All the other brides to be had either their fiance or another relative or friend with them. Boy, did I ever stick out like a Billy no mates!! Not EVER doing that on my own again.

Anyway, good news is that I manages to find a great photographer for our at home reception. Initially I was going to put trust in friends and family...and then I remembered that I am the one who always takes the photographs at other peoples events so that just isn't going to work is it?

His name is Chris Lynn and he is based in my area. He made me laught from the minute I walked up to his stand and his photos are a mix of posed and candid which is perfect as I like the unexpected photos. He also does boudoir portraits which I might consider as a cheeky present for Chris. He can do 4 hours photography and will give me all the images on a disc for £400. Believe me, this is a great price for a UK photographer. So I've just got to take Chris to meet him now and we are on to a winner.

Good news number 2: I met a lovely cake lady. You may remember I was going to attempt my own cake, but she had the most fabulous 4 tier wedding cake that was all white with spots and stripes in lovely oranges and greens for £395, as we would only need 2 or 3 tiers it would be a little less for us. When I told Chris he said we should go for it as it would save me the extra pressure of making a cake (gosh I do love him!)
Here is a photo of a similar cake. Try and picture it without all the flowers:

Very nice cake! I did a wedding show last year and it was heaving, hated it, couldn't wait to get out! Hope you found yours better x

:worship::worship:
Girl, you are so talented! I love the bouquet ideas. I also love the dress choices. I think you should totally go for the orange petticoat and the 2nd pair of shoes dyed orange. I can't wait to see it all put together!

I love the second pair of shoes. They are like a cool version of Cinderella's.

Claire sweetie
I am sorry you are not feeling so good - get well soon:hug:
I love the cake for the at home reception!!!
I am so pleased that you have a photographer sorted too. At my original wedding, we just used family and friends for photographs and it was a bad decision!!! At least I am having Randy this time so should get some good shots!!

Mine was heaving too. I was in and out of that place in about 30 minutes! there was so much stuff there that I just didn't need to look at that I whizzed around. Although I did get grabbed by a mad woman who tried to sell me a personalised poem:lmao:

Thank you so much:goodvibes I am really excited about the orange petticoat!I havn't ordered it yet though as I have no clue where I can store it away from Chris' prying eyes.

I have Randy too for our wedding. I can't wait to see your pics. Your VR is soooo close now Joanne. I'm excited for you:goodvibes
I think we made the right decision about having another photographer for the home reception. It's another big expense but I have such a big thing for pictures that I know it will be worth it. I'm the kind of person who gets upset about carrier bags in photographs LOL

So the latest instalment in the world of crazy wedding planning!

After months of planning a mad hatter tea party home receptiom, it has now drastically changed into a halloween themed event. Thank the Lord I didn't buy loads of tea pots or other such paraphinalia(sp) yet!

The reason for the change? Chris finally admitted he wasn't over the top with the whole tea party thing and he though everyone would enjoy a halloween bash much more, and seeing as the reception is on 29th October it all fits into place.

I am fine with this plan as I'm already thinking about carved pumpkins with flowers in and LED tea lights, orange orchids, a trick or treat candy bar and big orange lanterns hanging from the ceiling. Also, I can still havr the magical cake I swa as it has lots of orange icing on it so that still fits. And the clincher, Chris wants this cake topper:

I love it!

Here are some inspiration pics I found surfing google. Really love your opinions please ladies on the new plan.

Hope you have a wonderful time Natalie. Want to hear all about it when you come back :goodvibes

Thanks Joanne. I'm going to try and incorporate the logo you made for us in there somewhere too, maybe I could carve it into a pumpkin (sounds tricky). Or I might change the colour to orange instead of black and have it on trick or treat candy bags.

Thank you for reading:goodvibes. I am hoping it comes together as I picture it in my head and doesn't look like some kind of mental mess of colour!
