Went in registered (aka picked up envelope with tix) and headed right for the vendor fair...
walked up and down just scoping it all out... bought 2 transparencies (there was only one left of the softball one so I HAD to wait in that line!) It was mobbed in there...
Then off to my 11:10 class - CK's Top 20 Tips Tricks and Techniques... well being a CK class I had significant expectations...
they were not met... I picked up a few little things that made things I alread did easier - but for the most part unimpressed... did a one page layout which was kinda cute while she did the projector talk thing about tips...
outta there at 12:10 and the next class wasn't til 1:50 so off to lunch in the hotel pub style place - it was yummy..
and back to the vendor fair (it wasnt quite as mobbed now) we decided to divide up and meet at the next class - whoever got there first would save a seat...
did the SEI make and take (very cute) bought some of the new SEI stuff, then bought some of the new KofC stuff (using the % off coupon for a kit), bought (as Maggie gasps at this) bottle caps, and the stickers to use on them, bought Disney papers, and stickers, and stuff, then went to lighthouse scrapbook to use the 30 off coupon - googled at the QK stuff - debated the handle fo $46 had a few scrapworks thing in my hands and decided to look at my watch S*#T
I was late for class - put the stuff back and made a very fast paced walk to the class - my cousin was in the back row with my seat and stuff - I hadn't missed anything but the instructor intorduction yet - It was SEI class Timeless Treasures and we made 2 - 2 page layouts. One had a waterfall, and the other was with Grannys Kitchen stuff - very cute and I won a sheet letter stickers..

from there right over to wait in line for my CLEAR CUT class with Creative Imaginations I didn't like the layout at first - but it was a two page layout using transperancies...
the instructor was great and I really enjoyed the class! I think I will use the layout for Gabbys band concert pictures! i didn't win but they looked like good door prizes (5 transparencies)

it was now 4:10 and we went and dropped all our bags in the car and headed - quess where - the vendor faire again...
In one of the classes we used the distressing ink on a wand type thing (colorbloc I think) and I decided I HAD to have one (of course) so I searched and searched... and signed on as a TLC consultant ( I know you all are laughing at me) but i loved the case Iit is a 12 1/2 x 12 1/2 type square that flips open with a cutting board in it - it is sooo kewl! and it comes with a bunch of page kits and stuff) and it was cheap enough - and you ONLY have to spend 25$ every six months to stay active - and free shiping on orders over $150! The lady i signed unders website is www.wellscrapmesilly.com if you want to peak at the products - i liked the papers and kits and stuff! I got a FREE duffle in addition to the one on the site! Let me know if you all are interested in any product or signing on!
I continud to search for those dang things - bought paper and transparensies for the creative imaginations booth... wander some more - debated another BG kit - great prices I lost my cousin and couldn't find her (apparently she bought about $70 in bazzil...)
Well then my cousin and I went to the car and gather all our stuff...
and on our way buy the pub we grabbed a little pager thing and headed to find our room - we got our crop bags packed, and the pager went off - so to dinner we went...
relaxing dinner with a yummy martini...
then to the crop -
it was PACKED
couldn't find a seat anywhere
as well as a few other people
there were lots of empty seats with bags, sweaters whatever - people saving for others - really annoying...
finally a nice group came and got us and said we could sit with them...
ok6 at a round table is terrible...
you have a slice of pizza space to work (what is that!)
my cousin didn't even feel like doing anything so she flipped through my new LB book...
We did the contest - very funny - scrapworx had you use a bag full of products (what a waste of product really) and 'dress' up a model for a fashion show... our model - her name was Patty too - had a thong that said We <heart> scrapworx, and a beautiful tiara - but we didn't win.

I did manage to get 7 pages done in my disney album...
i also ordered my album cover and spine embossed - can't wait to see it later inthe week!

at 11 we packed up - and hit the pub again - bar side this time - had one DELICIOUS margarita (my fav) with salt...

went back to the room my cousin checked her schedual - first class was at 9:50
12:20 I hit the pillow -
5 am I was staring at the clock - made myself go back to sleep - finally at 7 something I hit the shower...
packed up etc... looked at my tickets as I moved stuff around and wouldn't you know it - CRAP I have a class at 8:30 - so forget about breakfast I run down for that and it was a great class - Get Real Boy or Girl - same instructor from creative imaginations... little flip book with tags and transparencies - adorable ( I did boy fyi)
I have 20 minutes til the next class so we gether our stuff bring it to the car - I grab 2 little muffins and a coffee and we head to the next class... I want to Bop With You Baby, very cute layout with a 'clothesline', foam stamps, lot of inking, tags, etc... it was not structured everyone worked at their own pace using a hand out and she just walked aorund helping those in need - nice not having to wait for anyone else....
The to Simple Design with Kits and Collections... zzzzzzzzzzzzz ...
first half was 'lecture style' about paper patterna and colors and contrast.... zzzzzzzzzz..crinkle...crinkle... as i crack out the twizzlers...
the second half was a little better making a little book (well not really just the pages for a book - 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 I think) zoo theme - kinda cute... now I have to take my kids to the zoo of course...

Thats it -
except the stop at Amandalindz on the way home and another $50 spent......

Great report and it sounds like you have a wonderful time! :teeth: (At least I always do when I'm spending money. :rotfl: )

Did you every find the distressing ink/wand thingy?

Sounds like a busy, busy weekend! Who makes the softball transparencies? I've got to find them! Softball stuff isn't that easy to find. Thanks!

Jeanne

I was at the Vendor Faire on Friday and had fun. I thought that the Rusty Pickles booth was the best! I did manage to spend a lot of money and got some fun stuff to play with.

The only booth that I wasn't impressed with was Lighthouse Scrapbooking. I used to frequent her store but found that the owner was both rude and arrogant. While at the Fair I went into that booth and she was the same way. I often wonder how she stays in business with her attitude.

anyway, that was just a vent; sorry.

For the most part I had fun and can't wait to use all the stuff I bought.

Patty, thanks for taking the time to write & share your convention experience with us.

NO! and even at Amandalindz I fount the little stamps that go on the wand (so of course I bought 2 - now to find that wand... i will not stop shopping til I do!)

and another thing - they had a lot of sizzix stuff the dies were buy 3 get one free (something like that) and i figured i am better off at Mikes with the 40 off (although they had all the new ones so I kept thinking about it - but I don't really use all that I have!)

Clear Expresions makes the transparencie and it says softball a few times different shades and sizes then it says in biggest letter "There's nothing
SOFT about it. love it

I didn't buy a thing at Rusty Pickle this time! I kept looking at a few things... just didn;t buy any... and I agree lighthouse stunk - they were nice enough to me and I had that dang coupon and I kept picking stuff up and putting it down... did you realize there were 2 lighthouse scrapbook vendors... The first one I went in was BIG LOTS of good disney papers, and Thomas papers, and stickers and such but they were from New York I think...

Well I know a lot of you are headed to one soon so I figured if I posted about some of the classes while you could change them you might like hearing opinions

Patty I have some of the dressed ink...it is in my pile, had to have never opened! HAHAHA I have black and green!
If you stamp with it on wet paper and then iron it, it loos way KEWL! :cool1: so of course I had to get it...but heck I dont even iron my own clothes so why on earth I thought I would iron paper!!?? :rotfl2: but at least I am the proud owner!

THanks for the info! I will be looking forward to the CKC this July.
Sondra

I was there! Got my Basic Grey collection packs for $16 each (usually at least $19) Took many, many classes. LOVED my Rusty Pickle file folder class and the SEI Preservation Embellishabilities Album class (using Granny's kitchen papers). Liked most of the other classes. DO NOT take a CK class or any Epson/HP class - just not worth the $$.

Patty, the Zoo pages are 6x6 - will fit perfectly in a 6x6 album...

The vendor faire was good. One of the things you have to remember is that CK tries to make sure that a variety of manufacturers are represented.

For example, Lighthouse Scrapbooking (as opposed to Lighthouse Memories) was the exclusive retail provider for Scrapworks. They had tons of Scrapworks products and only a limited amount of other stuff. If Scrapworks is not your style, you wouldn't like their booth. As for Ann the owner - I have had ok experiences with her. I find that she is shy and introverted but not nasty.

Patty - I think that I have seen that Colorbox Wand in the Creative Express catalogue. Google it!
