I have been reading a guidebook recommended on here recently - it talks about that if you have a Preferred Annual pass, then you get a free Party Pass at 'quieter times of the year - Sunday - Thursday' ie you don't pay 'cover charge'. Intending to buy one each - how can we find out if our dates are included?

I also wondered whether the clubs (particularly the karaoke bar) are off limits anyway to a 17 year old -naturally she won't be drinking any alcohol - just wonder if she would even be admitted.

Some of them will allow under 21, I don't know which off the top of my head. But the majority are 21 and up only.

Do not know any of the clubs that will let anyone in under 21 , does not matter if they are only drinking soda or not.
Rising Star is also 21, although 18+ on a Thursday which does not help.
Margaritaville has a group on usually about 9:30 and you could get a late meal or just go in, as they allow children in here.

The free Party Pass offer is only valid if you are in town for a meeting or convention. The rules state: Must Show Proof of Convention Attendance, (badge) to be redeemed.

I think that was always the intent but when so many people started getting the free passes (including us locals), they discovered their error.

UPDATE: Hmmm...If you click on the link provided by rpbert1 and on the first screen you see a link for Latin Quarter, that link takes you to a coupon that you can redeem for an all-club Party Pass that does not have the Convention restriction. This is probably an error too because all other links including other Latin Quarter links have the restriction. But they'll have to honor it. If you click on the link and the Latin Quarter icon is not on that first screen, close the new window and try again. Each time you go a different assortment of icons appear.

Thanks for that info bobk, , have never bothered with the party pass as we have or had AP, but knew it was offered, pity they changed the rules, but suppose they need to make some $$.
Good find that LQ one.
We usually go to margaritaville as DD is just turned 15, although she loves the entertainment at the Plaza at citywalk, and it finshes around 11pm which means we get to bed at a reasonable time.

The Groove does offer "Teen Nights" from time-to-time so be on the lookout for those during your next visit if you think she'd enjoy it. These passes would not be valid. Lots of security provided so it's a pretty safe environment to DJ-oriented dance music.

Frequently in my annual pass emails from Universal one of the perks for that month is getting a free Party Pass with your AP - no mention of anything to do with a convention.
