CityWalk Clubs: Drink Specials, Hot Bands, Etc.?

Hola all,

Just read under a CityWalk thread that Pat O'Brien's offers 2-for-1 drinks on Tuesdays? See, now *this* is the kind of information I'm looking for!

Wondering if anyone else can let us know little CityWalk secrets such as that one (if it's still in effect)? I'm trying to plan which nights we'll be at CityWalk and drink specials, entertainment offerings, etc. will be extremely influential in my decision. We're just two grown-ups desperately in need of a little fun this vacation.

So, in other words, what do you guys do for fun at CityWalk? What's a good weeknight (or weeknights) to hang out? Who are the hot bands? Who has the best specials and drinks (we're both bartenders and we love to check out the amazingly talented bartenders in Florida, truly the best in the world)? What time do the clubs at CityWalk close?

I don't know the answer to any of your questions - but we did have a great bartender at Margaritaville when we went 2 years ago. He put on a great show!

Well, it sounds like you read one of MY posts!

Different clubs at Citywalk have different events and specials that they run, so I can try to snag a calendar and post the info, to give you an idea...Pat O'briens has been 2 for one night for awhile though. What they do is give you a drink token based on the value of the first drink you buy, then you can redeem it or save it for another time. Hurricanes are their signature drink, and when they are 2 for 1, it really is a good deal!

Most of, if not all, the citywalk bars have happy hour from 3-7pm, which means 1/2 priced domestic drafts and usually some specialty drink (like at Margaritaville it's something like $2.00 regular margaritas). NASCAR Cafe has $2.00 domestic drafts all the time...

Depending on the time of year you visit, they might be having a special event...for instance, in 2 weeks is ReggaeFest...in Nov. they have the Orlando Beer Festival, etc. These are usually separate tickets, but lots of fun!

Different bands play at some of the clubs, I don't know about "hot" - I know Jimmy Buffett is coming to the area next weekend and his band showed up and played at Margaritaville, one night (but not Jimmy )

Most of the clubs are open until 2am, and on Thurs.-Sat. night, the groove says it's open until 3. Tuesday is a good night to go, and closer to the weekend, because I've been when it's dead, and it's not much fun, so the closer to the weekend, the more livelier it gets. Nights when there is something going on though can be TOO crowded!

Anyway, I'll try to pick up a schedule to see who is there etc...when are you visiting?

I know they also have a big bartender competition there every year, I'd love to see it, but I never have...seems to me that happens early fall or so, but I dunno.
