And yeah for Marlene for trying out again. I think the key is to know a couple of those songs on the list cold. It's more a contest of mimicking the song exactly then it is on individuality.

I wonder WHY they can't do the cowboy scene more. We have only gotten it once.

Great updates as always! glad you all had a good time in spite of the weather. We had our own encounter with the dreaded drops of doom today, except it was about 40 degrees F! Brr!

I loved the pictures of the cowboy set. They really do go into such detail. I felt sure you'd hit jackpot with the audition... What a shame. Still, by the sounds of it she did excellently, if only they'd have had a better song.

I was awake at 5am. I was tired but couldn’t sleep, due to that Disney excitement that anyone reading this probably understands.

I've heard of that...

Soon, we were ushered into an audition room and met Marlene’s auditioner, Mimi. What a great name for a singer -- Mimi. I mean, isn’t that what you sing when you warm up? Me-me-me-me-me-me-me. Sorry, I couldn’t resist.

Barry? Is that you?

After a little chit-chat, Marlene sang “Misery” by Maroon 5.

She's not sending you a message, is she?

Mimi tried to let her down easy though, saying that Marlene had a great “foundation” -- “You have ‘the look’, everything…

…But, I have to pass.”

Booooo! Where's Maryann when you need her?

For Gram and Poppy, I needed to think of some sit-down rides, and when you’re in the middle of Disney Hollywood Studios, there’s none better than The Great Movie Ride.

Mostly because there are no others.

The Cowboy scene! It does exist!

The focus on this next picture didn’t turn out the way I intended, but I kind of like it.

Our new cowboy-turned-tourguide took us further into our tour of Hollywood highlights, such as this scene -- where Alien becomes enraged at the sight of baldness.

Great, now I need a place to sit down.

Soon we were off on our galactic adventure, and we had a rebel spy in our midst -- it was Poppy!

The new Star Tours is awesome! We loved it!

What a way to start your first day! Debby was on her way and you went to an American Idol audition! Wow. I gotta give huge props to Marlene for auditioning. My friends tried to push me when I went on the Chorus trip (figures) and I just couldn't do it and I had been in theater for years. Takes lots of guts I gotta say. A shame she didn't make it through. to the song choice of Misery (Love Maroon 5!)

I'm so jealous you guys got the Cowboy scene. I'll probably love the Gangster side even more after having watched Pulp Fiction, the first two Godfathers and maybe a few other movies before I go back, but the Cowboy scene just looks so cool! I wonder if they'll be more prone to do it near summertime. And that's so great you all got to ride Star Tours together. "We're here to do stuff!" I'm pretty sure I've said that in WDW before lol And that's awesome Poppy was the Rebel Spy, a real trooper right there!

Hope the rain let up a little bit longer for you guys on this day. Can't wait to read more!
