City, Sand, and Savanna - Link to new trip report

Debby's a downer:

Poppy sounds like a great guy! I like anyone willing to tromp around in the pouring rain and still wants "to do stuff" is awesome in my book.

I ADORE the GMR! I think they should let more slime drip out of the Alien's mouth though. Best scene? The Munchkin Land. It's hard to contain my trigger finger on the camera in there. It's almost as bad as It's a Small World.

Happy New Year Everyone! So fun to see our favorite Steppesister here!!!! It just makes the DIS world seem right, doesn't it?

Glenn, love the dog hidden Mickey! I hope you convinced them to name their dog Mickey now? :rotfl2:

Progress...

A Day Off and Tea Time:

A day off is always a good idea! I try to aim for at least one for every 3-4 park days. You can't ever go wrong with just exploring the "so-much-more" the properties offer.

Poppy looks utterly bemuddled at Foosball. Don't let him fool you! H'es probably a Ninja player in disguise.

I could make a lot of buffalo hiney jokes, butt I'll refrain myself. (Not reading the mid-chapter chatter; you're welcome for the re-hash of said jokes.)

The acupuncture shower is placed expressly for the use of resort guests who've foolishly closed down the park the night before. "WAKE UP!", they scream!

TEA! It's an awesome event for that day off! Not high thrill or over-sensory, but certainly not boring either. Good choice, Ladies! :thumbsup2

Hey DISer's (and especially Pat), I thought you'd like this Hidden Mickey I found the other day while at a dinner party at a co-worker's house. I think you'll spot it without too much difficulty.

I also posted this on Instagram, and you can follow me there (I'm glennbo123 there also).

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: Thanks Glenn!!!! That dog better be named Mickey- or are the owners just not aware of the special dog the have?

It's good to BE back!

Soooooo.... nothing's changed. :rotfl2:

So glad to have you back!!! Lots of changes but still lots the same.
Congrats on the raise, and on the wedding!!!

I've noticed a lot less constant chatter, which for now, is a very good thing. But quite a few of the old timers are still hanging around like Autumn spiders.

Thanks! I have a lot of work head of me- both at my job and on the wedding front!

Happy New Years, Glenn!

LOVED your updates, as I am a huge Harry Potter geek. The attention to detail in the park is amazing. I cannot wait to see it with my own eyes one day.

And yes, I'm sure those houseplants will kill you the minute you turn your back or take off your earmuffs.

Time for another update.

Glad you did!

Impressive! :darth:

Why, thank you. I was the only one at the dinner-party who noticed it, but geez louise, it was right there!

Glenn LOVED the Hidden Mickey!!!!

:yay:

Glenn, love the dog hidden Mickey! I hope you convinced them to name their dog Mickey now? :rotfl2:

They explained that their prior dog had been named Mickey, and even though this one had a prominent HM, they just couldn't bear to give him the same name. I can understand that. But then they should have gone with "Pluto", and didn't...but hey, nobody's perfect.

Sorry, no title on the post and it didn't make the table of contents. Therefore, it doesn't exist. :teleport:

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: Thanks Glenn!!!! That dog better be named Mickey- or are the owners just not aware of the special dog the have?

You're most welcome! You were easily the first person to come to mind when I saw that! :rotfl2: ("Pat's gonna flip out!")

The dog is not named Mickey, see my response to Tammie, above.

They kinda are and kinda aren't aware of his special-ness. I mean, they know he has a hidden mickey on his head ::MickeyMo, but I don't think they realize how there's a whole Disboards full of people who would be amazed by it. Or...imagine if they'd sold him to Disney! I could picture him greeting people on Main St., or at least as a buddy for Shadow at HHI.

Let's see if I remember how to reply in color...

Well, you got the color down, but when you comment within my comment I lose your comments when I go to comment on your comments. Sorry, but I just had to comment. ;)

And I'm afraid I brought the flashback party with me. I'm sure you'll survive.

<Glennbo tilts head skyward with back of hand against forehead>

By the way, I got a huge raise at work today, so maybe, just maybe this wedding will be debt free afterall, and there'll be some leftover for school- which is completely off-topic, but hey, what's the DISFamily without the sharing of good news?

:cool1:  Awesome!!! Congrats!

More shenanigans:

That's what you're best at.

For the right price I"m sure GB is up for it. Bacon oughta do it.

You know his weakness.

Well, to be honest Someone sure knew I needed it. Wedding's aren't cheap; and my money tree is still in it's development phase.

Well, I'm glad you've got one. Don't forget to water it.

I"m glad I can bring some sort of entertainment value though to my being here.

Oh yeah.

Soooooo.... nothing's changed. :rotfl2:

Not much!

Debby's a downer:

Poppy sounds like a great guy! I like anyone willing to tromp around in the pouring rain and still wants "to do stuff" is awesome in my book.

He is, but...that was a quote of my mom's. He was just along for the ride.

I ADORE the GMR! I think they should let more slime drip out of the Alien's mouth though. Best scene? The Munchkin Land. It's hard to contain my trigger finger on the camera in there. It's almost as bad as It's a Small World.

You can never have too much slime. Or too many pictures in Munchkinland.

Happy New Year Everyone! So fun to see our favorite Steppesister here!!!! It just makes the DIS world seem right, doesn't it?

Thanks Tammie. Indeed it does, we've missed her!

Progress...

You know you're a DISer when...your idea of progress is sitting in front of the PC :surfweb: getting a couple of chapters read of someone else's vacation. :lmao: :goodvibes I can so relate.

A Day Off and Tea Time:

A day off is always a good idea! I try to aim for at least one for every 3-4 park days. You can't ever go wrong with just exploring the "so-much-more" the properties offer.

I agree, and yes that timing is about right. You go-go-go so much that you exhaust yourself and miss out on so much. And last time I looked, it was supposed to be a vacation! ;)

Poppy looks utterly bemuddled at Foosball. Don't let him fool you! H'es probably a Ninja player in disguise.

Ah, sometimes you should go with your first instinct. That's all I need to say about that.

I could make a lot of buffalo hiney jokes, butt I'll refrain myself. (Not reading the mid-chapter chatter; you're welcome for the re-hash of said jokes.)

They always seem to rear up, no matter how much time has passed.

The acupuncture shower is placed expressly for the use of resort guests who've foolishly closed down the park the night before. "WAKE UP!", they scream!

If only it was just a scream.

I wasn't sure if I was gonna have any skin left.

TEA! It's an awesome event for that day off! Not high thrill or over-sensory, but certainly not boring either. Good choice, Ladies! :thumbsup2

Ahem, it was the trip planner's idea. But he knows what they'd like.

I've noticed a lot less constant chatter, which for now, is a very good thing. But quite a few of the old timers are still hanging around like Autumn spiders.

Yeah, I just can't get on here as much as I used to. And I'm waaaay behind on everyone else's TRs.

Happy New Years, Glenn!

Thanks Hucifer. Happy New Year to you!

LOVED your updates, as I am a huge Harry Potter geek. The attention to detail in the park is amazing. I cannot wait to see it with my own eyes one day.

Glad you liked 'em. :yay: I'm sure you'll get there one day...just tell Dan you're taking him to a waterpark.

And yes, I'm sure those houseplants will kill you the minute you turn your back or take off your earmuffs.

You're referring to a Mandrake -- you know your herbology. You're obviously the Hermione of my TR readers.

Time for another update.

Gee lookit the time, gotta get back to work. :sad2:

Well, you got the color down, but when you comment within my comment I lose your comments when I go to comment on your comments. Sorry, but I just had to comment. ;)

Rats! Well, patience, Dearie. I'll find my sweet spot again soon. I just figured out the copy and paste option for the quote brackets thingies. Go me.

<Glennbo tilts head skyward with back of hand against forehead>

Easy now. Flashback parties aren't for the faint of heart. Nor is cleaning up the Christmas schtuffs. Which may or may not happen this month. :headache:

:cool1:  Awesome!!! Congrats!

Thanks! I'll take $400 more a month, yes sirree!

That's what you're best at.

You know me well. ::yes::

You know his weakness.

Yes I do! And about 98% of most other Americans.

Well, I'm glad you've got one. Don't forget to water it!

I try and remember to give you a start when you visit Oregon. :rotfl2:

He is, but...that was a quote of my mom's. He was just along for the ride.

Whatever. And aren't most men? Oopsie! Did I really just say that?!

:confused3:lmao:

Thanks Tammie. Indeed it does, we've missed her!

:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

You know you're a DISer when...your idea of progress is sitting in front of the PC :surfweb: getting a couple of chapters read of someone else's vacation. :lmao: :goodvibes I can so relate.

Glad to be in good company again! The vicarious living may be lame to some, but hey, I say get your kicks and giggles in the cleanest way possible. Like with more (upcoming) rear end jokes.

I agree, and yes that timing is about right. You go-go-go so much that you exhaust yourself and miss out on so much. And last time I looked, it was supposed to be a vacation! ;)

I read a FB blog post today about the 35 things you probably didn't know about the Parks... I knew (and SAW!) them all... BECAUSE I made it a point to slow down and look for the little things. Or to just stop and ask a CM to talk to me about their job, or those little things. Maybe I'm just an old fart now, who knows...?:coffee:

Ah, sometimes you should go with your first instinct. That's all I need to say about that.

I still say use caution with Poppsie.

They always seem to rear up, no matter how much time has passed.

:lmao: It's late and time for bed so I can't think of any good comebacks just now, except that this may come back to bite you at some point.

Ahem, it was the trip planner's idea. But he knows what they'd like.

Oh sure, take all the credit! (ummm, of course, that's what we planners live for.)

Yeah, I just can't get on here as much as I used to. And I'm waaaay behind on everyone else's TRs.

Did something change at your job? Something to celebrate?

Just finished Walkie Talkie Table, and although I'd love to comment more, I"m out of time.

LOVE the photo of Grams and Poppy with the server! I think that one actually turned out better because she was in it- the camera had something to focus on in the center. YAY, for photo bombers! :thumbsup2

At first I read your last sentence as "Debbie drenched PORK! :lmao::lmao: Now THAT'D be awkward!!! :scared1::lmao:

I pop in to FINALLY get caught up and who do I see?????

:cool1::cool1::cool1:

YAY!

I would love love love to see you! Let me know when and if anything might fit your schedule :goodvibes

I certainly will as it gets closer. I don't have our tickets in front of me,(Lion King) but if I recall it's late March. We want to do Dim Sim or Korean food before the show and hope to spend the night somewhere up near Seattle.
