City Park for Family Reunion?

Hi, does anyone know of a city park in or near Kissimmee that would be a good place for a family reunion picnic?

I've looked at the Kissimmee city parks website already, and the ones with lakes look interesting. Do they have good mosquito abatement at these lakeside parks, or would there likely be a lot of mosquitoes?

Also, since we'll be visitors and won't have kitchen facilities, any suggestions on where to buy some healthy takeout food for the picnic?

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Kissimmee itself has a lakefront park where you could try or Lake Louisa state park just off Highway27 would be nice (although I'm not sure about the Mosquitos) https://www.floridastateparks.org/park/Lake-Louisa.

I would go to somewhere like Publix to get your supplies for the picnic where they have a deli and bakery. There is one on the 192 just before you join the 27 so you wouldn't have it in your car for long :thumbsup2

Thanks! On the Kissimmee city parks website, there were two lakefront parks listed. Does anyone else know if mosquitoes are an issue there?

Walked a trail in Lake Louisa State Park a couple years ago and didn't find mosquitos to be a problem. But no picnic will be bug free!

Wherever you end up, I suggest checking if you can hold a pavilion in advance.

Thanks for all the responses. I understand that no picnic is free of bugs. But is there a park that is at least (mostly) free of mosquitoes?

How about the town of Celebration, although I visit to walk and look around I can't remember if there is a 'park' area where you could go.

Mosquitoes shouldn't be a problem during the day. They come out at dusk. Noseeums come out just a but earlier. Flies and maybe love bugs (depending on time of year) would be more of a problem.

I've been to some birthday parties at Lakefront Park in Kissimmee. It's nice there.

The parks in Celebration are not public, so hosting a large family picnic would be a problem. Sorry.
