We just got back from WDW and I had to share the news about this restaurant. My husband and I are in total agreement that this restaurant is definitely 5 stars plus.

We started our meal off with appetizers, sauteed shrimp for DH and for me Gateau of crab. Living on Cape Cod, it is hard to wow us when it comes to seafood, but they did. I cannot describe how delicious the appetizers were. For dinner, I had the grilled lamb chops with crispy polenta, my first time for polenta, and my husband had a special for that night, which I believe was a veal chop with lobster meat and mozzarella cheese. Both meals were cooked to perfection and the flavor was unbeatable.

We shared a speciality dessert, decadent chocolate item, for the celebration that is going on at Disney right now and our coffee was served to us in a French press, it was a great cup of coffee to go with that fantastic dessert.

Their wine list was quite nice and they had many speciality apertifs, Cherry Kiss, Melon Chi Chi, Italian Lemon Drop, bellinis, martinis, and I could go on and on.

If you are planning a special evening at Walt Disney World and want a truly incredible meal, I suggest you try Citrico's at the Grand Floridian Resort. I know we tried to make another reservation for our last night, but they were not open that night. I think their schedule at this time, is Wednesday through Sunday, and I definitely would suggest a priority seating as it was quite busy when we were there..

Thanks Citrico's for a great evening!!!!!!!!

OK, you sold me, I have looked at this restaurant for a long time and never made PS's but based on your review I'm going to cancel our 2nd Fulton's PS and book it here (if there is still availability). Does anyone know off hand if they are participants of DDE? TIA

I'm so glad you had a great meal. For two years now I've believed that Citricos (and Jiko's) represents the very best of Disney dining. Even if the meal were merely excellent, instead of outstanding, the service would more than atone for it. Since the restaurant has no special draws (like the California Grill's view or Boma's exoticism) I doubt it will ever be popular - and that's fine with me!

I am so glad that I convinced you.. Believe me, I have eaten everywhere on property and this surpasses all as far as we are concerned. I thought it was way better than California Grille and I did like Jiko's but still thought this was better.....

I used my Disney Dining Experience card and got the discount which was on liquor as well.......I cannot say enough about this restaurant, service, food, it had it all. Actually I thought seriously about "not sharing" this wonderful find, but that would not be very "Disney" of me.
;)

Our absolute favorite!! I alway try something different DH always has the veal shank and always loves it. Love the atmosphere, service & food. In my opinion the number 1 at Disney. :flower:

Glad you liked Citrico's! And pleased to hear it was crowded. I always worry about a restaurant at WDW that needs to close 2 nights a week. Maybe in time they will be able to resume a full schedule.

We were there 10 days ago for the first time and had a wonderful evening. Relaxing and great food. I had the goat cheese and greens app. and then the salmon , others had the veal shanks, tuna and swordfish. (4of us) The strawberry creme brulee was wonderful and the chocolate dessert with the tiara :rotfl: was enough for two.DS had the lime cheesecake. The waiter that we had was really entertaining.I will certainly go there again.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm hoping more people discover it. It is my favorite restaurant and IMHO, the BEST restaurant on Disney property (not including V & A's - but that's a different story). We absolutely love it there and try to get there each trip. We have NEVER been disappointed there. The veal shank is the best.

Sounds like I have another to add to the list of must do places! Now I'm starving....

I attempted to find out why it is not opened full time, actually I was surprised that it closed for two nights. Seems the answer was something like it is a speciality restaurant and therefore not opened full time. I would think with the crowds I saw at the restaurant with very happy faces after a great meal and the fact that we attempted to book again and found out it was closed that night that others may be trying to book on those nights as well. We certainly would have spent our last night at WDW eating at Citrico's, but could not.

I'm so glad the five stars actually meant five stars!! When I first glanced at the subject line I thought the five stars stood for an unpleasant word (like 'sucks'). I was surprised because most folks rave about Citricos!! I guess this is what happens when you censor yourself around your children too much, everything becomes a cuss word! :rotfl:

Glad you enjoyed it!

Thanks for the review. I'm glad to see that you liked Citrico's so much, it's one of the few restaurants we have not tried.

You are not alone, I thought the same thing.

OK, I fixed it.........I did mean it was a 5 star restaurant, but I do see your point. :) Of course, I would never cuss or swear on the Dis, I would be in big trouble if I did. ;) :) :) :)

For those who have dined at Citricos, are the filet and pork tenderloin both good selections?

Oh! I LOVE Citricos....we've been to quite a few of the nicer restaurants in the World, and this one is our favorite.

The Gateau of Crab is to die for! Wonderful food, wonderful service.

Everyone should give it a try! Yummy!

I had the pork tenderloin back in March and thought it was awesome. I loved my meal at Citrico's.

Excellent review ~ Thanx for sharing.

Thanks for the review Marsha. DH & I have already chosen Citrico's to celebrate our 20th anniversary. Too bad we have to wait 16 months to try it!!!!

Hope you and Tom had a wonderful trip.

Marsha, this sounds wonderful. I'll have to eat there when I am down there in May.
