We were thinking of purchasing tickets to Cirque for our upcoming end of August trip. It will be Dh, myself and dd's 17, 15 and 4. We have never been and were wondering if there is such thing as a bad seat ( thinking of getting Category 2 seats--good enough view)? And I was also wondering how fast tickets sell out? Should I purchase tickets now or can I wait closer to the date. Any input would be appreciated.:thanks:

IMHO, there is no such thing as a bad seat. In fact, I think the higher (cheaper) seats have a better view of the show as a whole.

For the end of August, I would not think there would be a problem waiting a while, but since you need 5 seats, I'd go ahead and purchase them once you decide for sure that you want to go, and which night.

It's a great show, your family will love it!

There are no bad seats. I like Cat 2 in the middle, not down low on the sides. Cat 3 as close to the middle as you can get is good too. There aren't any discounts right now, so we are waiting to see if any come up before our trip in August.

I haven't been to the one in Orlando, but I've been to a different one. The most recommended seats I see are I believe the category 2. Not too close but not too far back. I've heard at the Orlando show if your in the first section you'll be too close to take everything in. So I'd go with the middle section and as close to the center as possible.

From what I've looked at, tickets don't sell out super fast. So you can wait until closer to your date. But if you do want those center seats in the middle section, I'd book as soon as you could

I can't remember the category of seats we had. We had seats in the next section up more to side of stage right but it was first row of that section so the cast does a walk around at some point right in front of you. Really good view.

We have had category 2 and 3 and both were great seats. Even category 4 wouldnt be to bad. We are DVC members and category 3 was 50.00 each, you cant beat that. We love the show but twice is enough for us... We were there last Weds for the 9PM show and there was lots of seat not filled I think you should be fine.

i agree with everyone else that there are really no bad seats.
we ordered tickets on-line ahead of time because we really wanted to go. it did not seem like it was at all an issue to get tickets though when we were there.
it is a fairly small, well laid-out venue.... something cirque is very good at.

Are there usually discounts for Cirque tickets offered in August?

I've been to twelve or so different Cirque du Soleil shows, and have been to La Nouba three times. I always go for tickets in the second section back (not the front of the theatre) in the middle. (The last time I saw La Nouba, however, there were very few seats left when I called a few months in advance, so the three of us had to sit in the front section. Even the woman on the ticket phone line was surprised that the tickets for that day were mostly sold out, so it must have been unusual for that time of year, which was the beginning of February.)

I would recommend you buy your tickets as soon as possible. And be sure you arrive in time to see the pre-show (I think it starts 15 minutes before the show time), as it is funny!

We haven't been in August for several years so I'm not sure. The current discount ends June 27 so we are waiting to see if a new one is offered after that. I should add that most of the people on this trip have seen it before, so we wouldn't be too upset if we didn't end up going this time.

If you have particular seats in mind you can always call the box office and request them. The automated system returns whatever the computer thinks is the best available for that category but it may not be the seats you would prefer.

As PPs mentioned, don't go for the tickets up front. We sat Cat 2 almost dead center. You get to see the pre-show with the clowns--which is behind everyone who bought tix up front--and you're not craning your neck to see all the awesome high-wire performers.

I was waiting too for tix for first week of July..doesnt seem to be any discounts..are tix cheaper to purchase at the venue? Also, if we go with cat 4 (there are 6 of us so its pricey), is the view still good? It would be our first time seeing the show.
