Richard thank you very much for this ...... I'll register as a member - last time I didn't do this as I didn't like to book so far ahead in case the date proved inconvenient - result was we didn't get to see it all because there weren't any seats left, so I'm going to take your advice this time :)

... me again! I've become a member but would really like a recommendation for seating before I book, bearing in mind that Karen had such bad luck with the location of her seats..... so which seats would you suggest? ( I'm happy to pay top price if it means we get a good view).

Hi Shirley,

We have booked the 2nd most expensive seats (Centre Stalls) at £49.50 each.

When we telephoned The Royal Albert Hall box office line this morning, the very helpful lady told us where the best seats where.
Ringside is situated alongside the stage (the front 4/5 rows) and are £52.50 each, however most of the central ringside seats had gone, with only ones around the side with 'not as clear' views available.

Also at £52.50 are The Grand Tier Boxes, which seat 12 people and are behind the centre stalls, she didn't reccomend these unless you have a large group, along with the other £52.50 seats- The Loggia Boxes, each seating 8.

If you do decide to go for the centre stalls make sure you request ones in the 'K' or J/L (Near K) section as this is the most centre area overlooking all of the stage.

The best seat map for the Hall can be seen here:

All booked up :) !!

The lady I spoke to on the phone was really helpful too ( and I told her so) ..... I booked J section (no K for the date we wanted) and she recommended the seats with more rake. The very front are on the flat and no good when you are short!

I did gulp when I thought of how far in advance I'd had to book this - don't want to think about 2004 with 2003 so young!! But I must thank you Richard for bringinig this to our attention :)
My folks will be really pleased I've booked this up!

Wow, I think we must have had the same lady!, did you ring The Albert Hall booking office?

The lady we spoke to also said that the first few rows were flat, so it would be better rising up a few rows to have a better view. We are in J section too, but we checked with the lady that it was 'K side of J' rather than the other side before we booked.

When are you going?

We are seeing it at 7.45 on Saturday 10th January.

I know what you mean, we are a bit apprehensive of booking the seats so far in advance, it seems a bit silly releasing them so early IMO.

Richard. :)

Well done Shirley and Richard:p

Shirley I'm so glad you knew in advance the importance of booking the right seats at The Albert hall,it really does make a difference there. For us that have seen Cirque at Downtown Disney with barely a poor seat in the house,it is hard to explain how much a bad view can spoil your experience.

I can't remeber if I said in my post when I was asking for my money back on leaving the show several other families were too,it isn't just that I'm ultra fussy;)

Ooohh I'm tempted to book this now:rolleyes:

Karen - I know how much a bad view can ruin an evening at the theatre, and I am very fussy about seats for shows..... ask DH!!!

Richard, yes I called the Royal Albert BO - I think it's likely that most of the staff are very helpful :)
