Please, tell me I'm not crazy and this will be worth it!! I just bought 2 tickets for me and DH to see Cirque in N.Y.C.. I bought the V.I.P. package @ $220.00 each because the best available tickets were $95.00 and in the nosebleed sections. Anybody ever do the Cirque V.I.P., before? I hope it's worth it!!! :teeth:

ETA ... the tickets are for my 40th b-day. :cool1: I don't usually go this crazy spending money. Feeling a little guilty. :(

I've never bought VIP tix but I wouldn't look back or worry too much at this point. I'm sure you will have a fabulous time! Besides, aren't you worth it?

What a good treat for your 40th! :cool1:  :flower:

Wel, thank you. I really wanted to go to Disney, but it's just not working out. I figured this would be a good substitute.

we're going here in February. I had a heart attack for $100 pp but it's front row. I know it's tough to spend that much, but you deserve it, as do I so let's just go and have fun!

How the heck did you get front row for $100.00? Everytime I clicked on "best available" seats, they only showed me upper level for $90.00. No way was I paying $90.00 for bad seats. Oh well, I hope you have fun too, and your right, we do deserve it!! LOL!! I am so excited!!

Wow! are all the really good seats gone already? I've been waiting to pay off some bills first, since I need 4 tickets, but I guess I better get a move on. We went to Randall's Island a couple of years ago, and it was fabulous!!! (but not VIP!)

COOL!! Yes the seats are going pretty fast, I just checked a couple of weeks ago, and I could have sworn they had really decent seats for $95.00 per ticket, now all they have is really high seats. I looked for all the dates in April, May, and June. And btw, how do you get to Randalls Island anyway?? I checked the NY waterway website, but it doesn't tell me any direct route from NYC to Randall's Island. DH and I prefer to take the train to NYC first and the we will either cab it, or take the ferry if we can get one. Does that sound realistic? Well good luck with your tickets anyway!!

We have done VIP for Cirque twice and it was worth the money. When you enter the special tent, you get a nice bag with a souvenir program and a special lanyard which says VIP on it. There were tons of appetizers and desserts, plus free champagne! Some of the performers come out and interact with the VIP guests. I was sitting on an ottoman, just minding my own business, when a performer came up behind me, sat down and scared me half to death (he had been there for some time but I had no clue). Another performer followed my sister everywhere she went, eating what she ate, getting her a drink, etc. Hard to describe but very fun. What was really nice was a special entrance into the tent and our own restrooms to use during intermission plus we got to take our drinks inside with us. At intermission there was more food and drink. It will be a wonderful birthday gift and I'm sure you'll have a great time!

OOOOOOH!! I can't wait now!! I am so excited. What should I wear?? Is it casual? I was thinking pants or capris and a nice top and sandals, is that o.k.??

jamzots - we drove to Randalls Island. It's pretty easy, take the Grand Central towards the Triboro Bridge and there's an exit for Randalls Island before you get on the bridge. IIRC the girls and I wore skirts or capris (my Ds probably wore shorts)- we went in June 2 years ago.

at the Pepsi Arena in Albany. I'm looking forward to it. We're going 2/4.
