The rumor is that they are looking at a new Cirque show but it may be challenging for them to find performers with such a huge gap in time from closing. Any performers have probably moved on to different jobs and it will take time to hire new staff once the new show is fully designed.

I thought they were creating a new show and that it would take two or three years to develop. A quick internet search brought up a bunch of articles with similar information:

I agree that I should not have called it a rumor. I admittedly am worried that it will not be ready by March similar to other projects recently especially as they look for new performers...

Exactly. Cirque du Soleil's talent pool is basically the entire world. They have no problems finding people. During May 2019, they are holding auditions in Badapest, Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Geneva, Kiev, and Manila.
Back when I worked at Disney World, I knew a performer in La Nouba. He was a gymnast featured in the finale on the power track (the long trampoline). He happened to be one of the few cast members who was from the United States. And as far as gymnasts went, he was one of the few ones that wasn't a former Olympian.
They also have a school here in Montreal to ‘train’ artists and develop new shows. I’m sure they won’t have any issue finding people to perform in Orlando.

Cirque has their training facility in Montreal and pulls from there to fills shows. They add a new show every year so I would be very surprised if they have a hard time finding performers.

Performers for a Cirque show would be fairly easy to find in all reality, there are so many shows around the world that they could even just pull 1 or 2 extra people from each show and have a cast with understudies ready to go in a few weeks.
From what I heard from someone who has been with CDS for years, they were running into creative roadblocks and it was taking just a little longer than they originally thought, but it is still coming!
