I was looking at these phones tonight at Walmart. On the back, it showed the chart for the two options. One said 10 cents/min, unlimited mobile to mobile, $1/day fee on days you use the phone. The other was 25 cents/min, no unlimited m/m calling, no $1 fee.

What do they mean by the first option? Regular calls are 10 cents/minute, unlimited mobile means free calls, just like on a regular Cingular plan? Is this wrong?

The girl kept insisting that the unlimited mobile to mobile is 10 cents/minute. :confused3

Cingular pay as you go wants to charge you a $1 a day for the use of the phone if you do the unlimited mobile to mobile. So if you or your girls use the phone every day be prepared to pay $30 and I was understanding that it's PER phone so if one sister calls the other thats $2 not 1.

Have you looked at the T-Mobile pay as you go? They have some pretty decent plans. I think that Cingulair has one of the worst prepay plans that I have seen.

Thanks, Tina. I got so frustrated with this girl, I didn't look at the other phones. I did understand the $1/day, but she was trying to tell me that I will have to pay 10 cents/minute for mobile to mobile. Then why does it say UNLIMITED m/m...that means FREE m/m.

DD15 and I have the Cingular family plan, which is why I looked at the Go Phone. I thought about getting one for dd7 in case she needs to reach me when she's with her dad. Or if I get stuck in traffic and no one is there to get her off the bus. I don't want to add her to my plan b/c the purpose isn't for her to use the phone on a daily basis. Only in emergency situations.

Lovemygoofy is correct. On the first plan, it's $1 per day on any day that the phone is used, plus $0.10/min if the call is to a land line. So, if the girls are talking on their cell phones to other kids on their cell phones, you're looking at a minimum of $1 per day per phone.

I have the $0.25/min. plan with Cingular prepaid and love it. It's just right for DH and my needs since we use our phones for occasional convenience/emergency.

The 10 cents a minute should be if she called anyone that was outside the cingulair family. If its going to be just for short calls and not an everyday thing then 25/minute wouldn't be a bad thing. I was just make sure your daughter understands that it's not an everyday hour long call to everyone she knows, lol. Does cingulair offer some kind of small phone plan for little children? I know that many companies are getting into that now.

So, the girl was wrong. She had me really confused. I'm thinking the $1/day would not be good for dd7. Hmmm, I'm even wondering if the 25cents/min would not be good. I would only want her to have it for emergency purposes, but, I have this feeling she'd be calling me every time she's away. :rotfl:
