Cinderella's Royal Table Question for boys

We've been thinking about trying for an ADR in September for CRT. My DS loves the castle, and I brought it up to him. He wanted to know who "lives" in the castle, and I told him a princess, and that there would probably be lots of princesses there. He said he didn't want to eat with princesses. Then a bit later, he asked, "can I be a knight?". I was wondering what the atmosphere is like for boys at CRT?

We were just there in November and my son who is 9 had fit when we first got in. He wasn't taking his picture with a princess, which was fine with my daughter. The cast memeber did give him his sword and he was ok with that.

In the restaurant for dinner, it really wasn't about princess. 2 mice from Cinderella made there way around the tables, then the fairy godmother did some rounds and then they put on a show and were done.

And my son was OK with that, he even got into it "a little" as he put it.

It is and experience in itself just eating at the castle with the view and the look.

Wonderful, I think all will be okay if he gets a sword. Then he'll be able to be the knight he was asking about. I feel sorry for Capt. Jack if DS does get a sword. He has a little knight and was slaying a Capt. Jack figurine last night, since Jack's a pirate and tried to steal the knight's treasure.

My boys are 11, 9 and 6 and we have breakfast at the castle every trip. My boys have never had a problem with the princesses or taking pictures with them. When they first get in they will give the boys swords and stars so they could wish upon them during the meal. He will have a great time I guarantee it!

I wanted to eat in the castle and as a mom to three boys who are not going to publicly be seen with princesses, I didn’t think it was going to happen. I finally talked my oldest into it—for dinner. No princess meal, but eating in a princess castle was fine with him.

When we got there, they were all given a sword, which they loved. They did balk at having a picture taken with Cinderella, but they did it for mom. They meal itself was nice since the mice came around and the fairy godmother was there, but not really doing table visits. They lived with it.

I've been told we can do dinner there again, but still NO BREAKFAST! Fine with me, breakfast ADRs are a pain to get.

Thank you for the reassurance everyone. We're hoping to get lucky with a breakfast ADR. And I guess if we're really lucky, the day that we're going to have breakfast, we'll just have to come down from our previous night's stay in the castle suite!

I am guessing an 11 year old won't get a sword, since Disney calls them an adult? My son will be bummed...I think he would enjoy getting to be a part of the action as well.

Not really, when my boys went (my oldest is 11) he was given a sword along with his younger brothers.

We took our almost three year old son to lunch there last September. That is a princess meal; we have pictures of him with Cinderella (the formal posed one), and Snow White, Jasmine, Belle, and the Fairy Godmother as they made their way through the tables. He was _very_ shy of the princesses; it was his second meeting with characters and the first had been a disaster for him (even though he LOVES the Little Einsteins on tv.) All the princesess took their time to make him comfortable. (Except Jasmine, who was a complete witch. When he was a little scared in the first 10 seconds, she made some snotty little comment and started to take off until I asked her to pause just one moment for a picture. My whole family was shocked at how rude she was; I thought those princesses were taught to be sweet and polite! My mom wanted to complain to someone about her, but I didn't want to take the time to find someone and then generate all that negative energy on our vacation. Anyway, that was the only low point to our meal.)

I have a wonderful photo of Snow White kissing him on the cheek, and almost as cute photos of him interacting with the others. He loved exploring the castle and waving his sword around. (He still likes waving his sword around.)

Overall, we enjoyed it, and doing it once was really worth it even though he is decidedly not into princesses. The photos we got truly are priceless. We were really debating about whether or not to take him again next trip - but I'm late making ADRs so it is probably a non issue!

Of course, he can be a knight. I think most boys really do like the princesses. I think they are more afraid of being the only boy there. My sons are now grown and still love going to the castle. DH wouldn't miss it for the world. He thinks he and Cindy have something special going on.

My 9 year old boy has always LOVED eating in the castle and meeting the princesses. I don't get it, its not a place FOR princesses to eat, its a place to eat and MEET princesses - why would a boy bot want to do that?
