Hi,

I haven't been to CRT in years because I was told the food there is all preplated at some other location and they don't even have a kitchen.

That's always kind of been a turn off...... Does anyone know if that is true? Where is the food actually made?

I don't believe it's made somewhere else, I just read on a website called Allergy eats that people who had children w/ allergies got to speak with the chef there as to what they wanted to eat. We ate there last year, it was good. For the experience it's great but I'm glad I did not pay for it haha (SIL did.. sucka!!!)

Belive it's prepared in a kitchen down in the utilidor's

We ate there one time for breakfast and my dad wanted to order a dish that had chorizo sauce but he didn’t want the sauce. Him and the waiter went back and forth about why he couldn’t get the dish without the sauce. So...be prepared for possible conversations of “we can’t do that”.

That being said if you have allergies they will take care of you. I have Crohn’s disease and while it’s not an allergy I do have trouble digesting some things. After a few days of eating grapes as sides my digestive system had enough so I requested fries as a side. There was some back and forth when I told them I couldn’t eat the side that came with the dish. When they asked if it was an allergy I said kind of. The manager came out wrote up a form and got me a side of fries instead of beans. That’s the only allergy related expirience I’ve come across though.

We have eaten there quite a few times and have never had an issue asking for something different like no cheese on the salad and getting a different side dish.

I heard they have a really small kitchen in the castle but the utilidoors is where they keep all their storage as well as where the characters walk up from.

I really enjoyed the food as I mentioned in my review last week.

We have only had brft, but have enjoyed our food each time. We haven't needed to ask for anything special, so can't speak to that.

I used to work there, they do some of the prep work like marinades and things at utilidoor level, but the cooks and the actual cooking are up on the same floor as the restaurant.....

where in the utilodor? Right below the castle or is it like, far away?

anyway thanks for the answers, i feel better about eating there now. i just always pictured some food being cooked elsewhere then sitting under a heat lamp all night on plates

From my personal knowledge, TRUE.

no, that would be too much work.....literally the kitchen for the large prep is below the castle, like cutting lettuce, preparing sauces, the things that need the most space and aren't going immediately, directly on dishes....

the cook line is on the same floor as the restaurant, so that fresh food can come out of the kitchen to the table......I mean, it would actually take up more space to keep 800-900 dishes under heat lamps than actually cook them as they go....

I have eaten there twice and never had issues with the food. The chef has even come out to talk to guests while I've been there. The food has always seemed freshly made and I've only had good experiences there.

I've eaten there with family for a breakfast, lunch and dinner so far, most recently in 2016. Always had a chef out to speak to us due to family allergies and Celiac disease, so if it IS cooked in the utilidors (wouldn't surprise me due to space concerns) I think they manage it very well and I cannot see any downside.

where in the utilodor?

1) Huh?
2) Utilidoors are mystical places.
3) Only Lamont Cranston is allowed to know what goes on in them - or, if they really exist.

NOTE: If you can't find Lamont, get an answer by dialing 867-5309 and ask for Jenny.
