Hi there,

We are doing one-day at Magic Kingdom before our cruise and booked supper at Cinderella's Royal Table. I was super interested in doing the Royal Court Tea while on our cruise and I am wondering, having done neither, if they are very similar? Supper would be with me, DH, DS (5) and DD (3) and the tea would just be me and my daughter. I wasn't sure where to post this (i.e. Disney Restaurant forum?) but am hoping someone might have experience with both. They are each pricey, and I am happy to pay for the experience, but don't want it to be too much of the same thing. If it is, which would you choose, Royal Court Tea or Cinderella's Royal Table?

Thanks!!

Brandy

I would say they are very different.

Cinderella's Royal Table (at MK in WDW) is a table service meal with a full meal served. Cinderella greets you at the entrance, but does not circulate through the dining room. The characters upstairs will vary, but I believe it's typically a few princesses. Girls receive a wand and boys receive a sword. I know the prices varies by season, but something in the range of $65-$75 for adults and $40-$45 for kids.

The Royal Court Royal Tea is only offered on the Fantasy. It is a tea party; real tea is served or apple juice is available for the kids, along with finger sandwiches and mini desserts. The princesses will circulate, though I'm not sure it's guaranteed which princesses will be in attendance. Girls receive a jewelry box, link bracelet and necklace with charms, My Disney Girl doll, pen and autograph, tiara and French Rose; boys receive a backpack, sword and shield, pin and Duffy the Disney Bear (I'm not sure how often the gifts may change, this is what's listed on the DCL website). Price is $279 for the first adult and child, $210 for each additional child and $69 for an additional adult. As something comparable to at WDW, it's more like the My Disney Girl Tea Party at the Garden View Tea Room at the Grand Floridian.

Enjoy your cruise!

The Royal Court Tea is basically like the Princess Tea at the Grand Floridian except at the hotel, it is narrated by another woman and Aurora stops by. For a 3 and 5 year old, I'd do the tea, if I had to choose between the two.

Is it hard to get tix to the tea on the Fantasy? Do I purchase in advance or buy when onboard?

When I did the tea with my daughter concierge were the only people who could book before getting on the ship. That was almost a year ago, so it might have changed. It was a fun to do with her once. But, I wouldn't do it again. They had a little show and gave here a lot of Princess items to take home. They only have three princesses to meet, but they did give her a framed picture of her with all three to take home.

Cinderella's royal table we have done many times. There is no real show besides the voice announcing the princesses and having the kids make a wish. The fun part about this restaurant is your eating in the castle. I may be bias as eating there is one of my fondest childhood memories.
