Congrats on the wedding and honeymoon!!!!

Your such a cute couple.

WooHoo for reading TR's at work... I teach so no computer access for me..... Welcome aboard!!

just hopped on board for your TR. Can't wait for the rest and to find out if ya'll have a little surprise on the way!!!

Me and DF are going down for his first trip in hopefully Sept of this year. We're getting married May of '09 and are DEFINITELY( unless he hates it, which he better not) then we are Disneymooning it too.

Great trip report so far!! Congratuations on your new last name :bride: We are going in September and are eating at Jiko but haven't made any reservations for Boma... with it being buffet and traveling with one picky eater who did not see chicken fingers on the buffet menu.. we just didn't want to do him in twice.

:welcome: Congrats on your engagement!!! We had such an amazing time on our honeymoon - it was really magical! My DH wasn't really thrilled to go to Disney for our honeymoon but did anyway because he knew that's what I really wanted. He ended up having an amazing time and we already have another trip in the works

It's funny you mentioned last name :lmao: I just got my last name changed 2 days ago!! I've been married almost 3 months and JUST got it changed... Oh well, that's what a 9-5 job will do to you... Just can't take care of these kinda things! :rotfl:

FYI - I have a picky eater too and they did have chicken nuggets at Boma in February! :thumbsup2

Yep - I agree - they had chicken nuggets at Boma in January too!!! I had one - very yummy!

Just wanted to let everyone know a new installment will be coming TONIGHT!!!!! Still no news on our other little "situation"... I'm in limbo currently - not a nice place to be regarding this! We just have to wait it out and see!!

Stay tuned for the next installment!

Ohhhh I might add it then as we had one open even meal that I just couldn't decide on. My DP was thinking Victoria and Alberts but I didn't want to drag the kids there for the LAST MEAL... but at Boma we would be right there... Thank you for your help!!:dance3:

Just wanted to let everyone know that we do not have a little surprise on the way.

Honeymoon installment to come later this evening!!

Sorry guys - not alot of pics on this day - waterparks and digi cams don't really mix!!! Not to mention my camera was acting screwy and dating things wrong. I couldn't get the date to go away and it was saying 1/10 when it was really 1/8. But anyways, On to the update!!

1/8/2008

Itinerary: Breakfast at Mara, Typhoon Lagoon, Magic Kingdom (sorta), Wishes Cruise, dinner at Jiko.

DH wakes me up again this morning with a croissant from the Mara and a nice hot cup of coffee..... OK OK OK... and some Zebra Domes.... Yes I know it's 8am, but I'm ADDICTED to those things now!!! We venture out on to our balcony to see the zebras and other animals that are roaming around. The view is so amazing and I still can't believe we are actually married and spending our first few days together at the most magical place on earth!!! We decided to take it easy today (DH's idea) and take on a water park and do a little shopping. Since Blizzard Beach is closed for refurb, Typhoon Lagoon it is!! We got dressed and hopped on the bus to Typhoon Lagoon. The bus ride was short and uneventful. We pulled into the unloading area and were greeted by none other than RAIN!! Yeppers, rain - not a hard rain - but rain. We hurried into the park and took cover in a shop. DH rented a few towels (which they didn't charge us for - a small honeymoon gift from the CM's there). We looked around for a bit and then low and behold the rain quit!! The sun came out in full force and it felt like 90 degree by 10:30 - 11am. We headed to a little "outlook" area at Typhoon Lagoon to look over the whole park - it really was beautiful!!

The landscaping really transports you to somewhere besides a water park!

First we grabbed two chairs by the surf pool, put our stuff down, and headed into the surf! This was the best "wave pool" I have ever seen!!! So amazing!!!! DH absolutely loved it - I thought the waves were a little strong - they knocked me under quite a few times, but it was still fun!! We spent about an hour bobbing around in the water and then decided to hit some slides!! We made our way out of the water and headed towards Keelhaul Falls, Mayday Falls, and Gangplank Falls. The rain obviously kept some visitors away - as did the fact that it was January - we waited about 3-5 minutes for the slides! We went down all 3 of these waterslides and all three were pretty neat - a little tame, but fun and the water felt amazing! After these slides we decided to drift in the "creek" for a little while. Castaway Creek was soo peaceful!! DH and I each grabbed an inner tube, hopped in, linked footsies, and drifted. The water was warm, the sun was shining, and we were in love - so PERFECT - what could possibly go wrong??? I'll tell ya what could go wrong - WATERFALLS and FOUNTAINS!! That's what could go wrong!!! I'm peacefully drifting along with the warm sunshine on my face - eyes closed - and all of a sudden I feel FREEZING cold water all over me.... Why must they do this to me???!!!!??? WHYYYYYYYYYYYY?? **ok, rant over** It's now around 2pm and we are starving!! We head over to Leaning Palms and order two double bacon burgers, 2 orders of fries, and 2 cokes - YUM - just whatcha need after a day at a waterpark!

The view from the picnic table we ate lunch on

Ahhh sunburn in January :)

After lunch we decided to hit the surf pool again and then the storm slides. DH and I both likes the Storm Slides and hit Humunga Kowabunga which was also really cool. After the slides we headed on over to Crush & Gusher. We rode all three slides twice!! This was the most awesome slide ever!!! Coconut crusher, banana blaster, and pineapple plunger - all three rocked!! We decided to head over to the Shark Reef for a snorkeling adventure. I grabbed a life jacket and DH didn't - crazy man!! We hopped in the water and it was FREEZING!!!!!!!!!! DH pushed right off and started floating - I was freaking out about being in the water with sharks and fish. I made DH come back and hold on to me even though I had a life jacket on. I tried really hard but couldn't use the mouthpiece. It just tripped me out to be under water and breathing!!! I just used the mask and held my breath. It was SUPER cool!!! The fish were amazing and it was cool (and scary) to be in the water with sharks. I did freak out when a fish touched me though.... I know, I know... I'm sad..... After we did this we decided to go ahead and head back to AKL and get changed.

Up next: Wishes Cruise and dinner at Jiko

great update and pics.

never been there, maybe one day.

Love the update - Typhoon Lagoon looks really pretty. Sounds like a great day to be there! Looking forward to hearing about the Wishes cruise and Jiko!

How fun! We are planning on doing Blizzard Beach when we go, but every time I see other peoples' pictures of Typhoon Lagoon, I think maybe that's what we should do instead!

You really lucked out being able to hit TL in Jaunuary! Glad you were able to make it, it's such a great place!

Howdy! I was mostly AFK for about a month and am playing catch-up on several TRs. Happy to see that you're still posting! I'm catching back up to where you had just landed at MCO and were looking for ME and found the giant line

Very cool that they kept the line moving and you were on your way within 20 minutes. Hehe - yes, walking outside the climate control into warm weather can be a shocker. When we left home there had been a couple of inches of snow on the ground - lol. That has to be a great feeling having everyone asking questions about the wedding and all that. Yay for passing under the arch into "the World", it is such a warm, wonderful feeling :-]

We stayed off property on our trip and loved the amount of space we had, but we are looking forward to staying on property next time and your descriptions of the resorts really adds to that :D The AK lodge sounds wonderful and how very cool that you got a savannah view! Yeah, I'd deal with a queen bed for the view for sure, especially with a zebra sitting before you even unpack :thumbsup2

Best double bacon cheeseburger ever aye? Sounded like a great meal ...and I think we saw some of those begging birds at AK itself while we were there. What is a zebra dome? Itinerary out the window on day one - well flying by the seat of your pants can certainly have its plusses! Cool that all of the bus drivers noticed and congratulated you two :)

Awww, Mickey wedding congrats right off the bus! Great pic of you two in front of SE! TT 3 times, nice start to your riding adventure. I'm glad you enjoyed SE and very cool abstract shot of the outside of it. :goodvibes

Dinner at Citrico's sounded good except for the sweet tea debacle and the too-spicy pasta. And relaxing in the hot tub back at the resort sounds like a perfect ending to a long day.

DHS! Great choice for your first full day, and wonderful pics of ToT, both outside and in. We rode it a bunch of times while we were there and the attention to detail is just wonderful. I'm glad you enjoyed RnRC - it is officially my favorite roller coaster at WDW :D

Cool pics from walking around the park, the brooms are very neat :) That's kind of funny that you saw the last "scene" of Indiana Jones. When we went we saw the whole thing except the last scene because they had technical difficulties. It sounded like a pretty nice morning there.

More pool fun - whoohoo! And lunch at Mama Melrose's sounded like a really nice lunch. No tiramisu there though - check! Did you get to ride ToT or RnRC again? You kind of skipped ahead to being back at the resort and getting ready for dinner in your next post.

California Grill sounds awesome! We definitely want to watch Wishes from there one night on our next adventure! Thank you for the detailed descriptions of all of your meals and how it all tasted.

AK day - yeehaawww! This is my favorite park as far as theming goes. The imagineers just outdid themselves. Good start with the Tree of Life and ITTBAB - very cute audience effects and Hopper is pretty scary too!

Oh no! Kali rapids early in the day? Sorry about being wet and uncomfy :P But I'm sure riding EE made up for it ;) You got to eat at Yak and Yeti? WITHOUT RESSIES??? Luuucckkkyyyyy! :woohoo: Looked like some good vittles too :D More EE after - cool.

Dinoland is a real kick I must agree. And as far as small kids on Dinosaur I would tend to agree. It is a pretty intense ride. Nice finish going through Africa but bummer about not getting to do the safari. At least you can just look out the window at your resort and enjoy your own wildlife adventure.

I can understand canceling your dinner reses and eating there at your resort. Traveling for dinner every night can be a bit much after such long days of fun. Glad they were able to get you in and that you enjoyed your dinner there.

Ohhh, sorry to hear about the other news ...but no worries, you two have plenty of time to bring another DISer into the world

That is so nice that your DH is bringing you breakfast :) WOW, despite the rain it looks like you picked a perfect day for TL. I can't believe your first shot with nobody in the wave pool yet. It sounds like you really made the rounds there! The wave pool is amazing isn't it? And if you swim out far enough you don't get nailed by the waves. We went there two days after you guys and had a blast too! The other slides were cool enough, but Crush n Gusher slides were so much fun we spent over an hour on them :D

Great TR so far - lookin' forward to hearing about that Wishes cruise! :wizard:

I have to say I agree with MNMRMustard that ur DH bringing you breakfast was so sweet! I was reading your TR sitting next to my DF and I kept nudging him and going "hint hint" when I would read how your DH brought you breakfast! LOL I hope he gets the hint!princess:

I'm so happy that your off to a great start with your honeymoon and love your resort. DF would love to stay there some time. We had the choice between there and the POLY since we booked a Land/Sea Honeymoon but I really wanted to stay at the POLY since its soooo much more expensive and would be a while before we could actually afford to stay there. Plus having only 4 days at Disney I think having the monorail there will be awesome.

Yeah, GIANT line - we FREAKED out - so happy it moved quickly!!

Very cool that they kept the line moving and you were on your way within 20 minutes. Hehe - yes, walking outside the climate control into warm weather can be a shocker. Ahhh, that feeling was so wonderful - I miss it, can't wait to feel it again!!! We were planning on a May 2009 trip, but just bumped it up to March 2009!

It was so amazing to see the animals!! They were out ALL of the time and I loved to sit and watch them!!

I had detailed plans, down to the hour - they went out the window when the magic overtook me!!! It worked though - guess it was because the crowds were low and all the parks pretty much had equal crowds and all the rides equal wait times.

Awww, Mickey wedding congrats right off the bus! Great pic of you two in front of SE! TT 3 times, nice start to your riding adventure. I'm glad you enjoyed SE and very cool abstract shot of the outside of it. :goodvibes

Thanks so much - we have that pic hanging in our living room :thumbsup2

Dinner at Citrico's sounded good except for the sweet tea debacle and the too-spicy pasta. And relaxing in the hot tub back at the resort sounds like a perfect ending to a long day.

I missed my tea sooooooooo bad!!!!!

DHS! Great choice for your first full day, and wonderful pics of ToT, both outside and in. We rode it a bunch of times while we were there and the attention to detail is just wonderful. I'm glad you enjoyed RnRC - it is officially my favorite roller coaster at WDW :D

RnRC is DH's absolute favorite rollercoaster EVER!! He loved it so much!!

Cool pics from walking around the park, the brooms are very neat :) That's kind of funny that you saw the last "scene" of Indiana Jones. When we went we saw the whole thing except the last scene because they had technical difficulties. It sounded like a pretty nice morning there.

The brooms tickled me - I can't wait for my mom to see them in March - she'll love them too!! Wait until you hear about our 2nd day at DHS - very cool thing happened at Indiana Jones :cool1:

More pool fun - whoohoo! And lunch at Mama Melrose's sounded like a really nice lunch. No tiramisu there though - check! Did you get to ride ToT or RnRC again? You kind of skipped ahead to being back at the resort and getting ready for dinner in your next post.

Mama Melrose was pretty good, not sure I would go again - I like to try new places!! We did ride a both ToT and RnRC again before heading back - sorry - left that out.

California Grill sounds awesome! We definitely want to watch Wishes from there one night on our next adventure! Thank you for the detailed descriptions of all of your meals and how it all tasted.

Oh it was our best meal!! I LOVED it and so did DH!!!!

AK day - yeehaawww! This is my favorite park as far as theming goes. The imagineers just outdid themselves. Good start with the Tree of Life and ITTBAB - very cute audience effects and Hopper is pretty scary too!

I also LOVED Ak!!!! The theming is so amazing!!!

I will never do Kali that early again!!! I didn't realize we would get SOAKED!!!!!! We were so happy to get Yak and Yeti with no ressie - it was wonderful and delicious!!!!

Oh don't worry - more to come about the safari during our 2nd day at AK - and it's great!!

I can understand canceling your dinner reses and eating there at your resort. Traveling for dinner every night can be a bit much after such long days of fun. Glad they were able to get you in and that you enjoyed your dinner there.

We were soooo tired and just didn't want to travel again for dinner - especially since we had a late ADR anyways! Jiko was ok.... but we won't be returning... I was kinda disappointed actually!

Ohhh, sorry to hear about the other news ...but no worries, you two have plenty of time to bring another DISer into the world

Thanks :goodvibes We are ok and know that we will have a little DISer soon enough - hopefully to take with us on our March 2009 trip :)

He was soooo sweet to bring me breakfast and I enjoyed eating on the balcony sooo much!!! Typhoon Lagoon was so amazing and I can't wait to do it again - we are actually planning on doing that our first full day when we return in 2009.

Great TR so far - lookin' forward to hearing about that Wishes cruise! :wizard:

Thanks so much!! Don't get your hopes up about the WISHES cruise.... it wasn't that great unfortunately!

I have to say I agree with MNMRMustard that ur DH bringing you breakfast was so sweet! I was reading your TR sitting next to my DF and I kept nudging him and going "hint hint" when I would read how your DH brought you breakfast! LOL I hope he gets the hint!princess:

Oh I agree - Poly for sure - that's my dream resort to stay at!!! Maybe one day :confused3 I hope at least!!!!! It would be amazing to be on the monorail :) Glad you are linking my TR - stay tuned for more!
