**Cinderella's Honeymoon**AKL**DxDDP**A Magical Time**

Great update! Love that you had a call from Mickey!

Your pictures are great - can't wait to read more.

OK, everyone - net is working today and I'm home with the flu  So there should be quite a few updates on both my dining report (which i haven't updated in over a week) and my TR :cool1:
You have a dining report? Where is that one?

So we arrived at the Grand Floridian a little early for our dinner reservation at Citrico's so we decided to walk around the grounds for a little while first. We walked around the pool and the marina and then explored the lobby area a little. About 8:30 we went ahead and checked in for our 8:55 reservation. We were seated within 10 minutes. Our server was very friendly and took our drink orders within seconds of us being seated. I immediately asked for sweet tea to which our server replied "Where are you from"?? I thought she was kidding at first, but then realized she wasn't.... I replied "South Carolina" and she just smiled. I thought she may be asking because some say that I have a strong Southern accent, but then she asked if it was our first visit and we said yes. She went on to explain that we had gone too far south and sweet tea was a foreign drink in Florida. I was stunned....shocked...and terribly upset!!! I mean, come on!!!!! Disney offers beers and specialty drinks from around the world and yet they don't have sweet tea???? I was terribly depressed!! So I ordered unsweet tea with lemon and DH ordered a coke. When she returned with our drinks, she took our appetizer orders. DH ordered Sauteed Shrimp which was jumbo shrimp sauteed with lemon, white wine, tomatoes and feta cheese. The flavors were wonderful, but I do not like shrimp. DH enjoyed it very much!! I had Romaine salad which was large romaine hearts tossed with blue cheese and tomatoes topped with a riesling vinaigrette. I enjoyed the salad very much!! I don't like to start with a heavy appetizer like DH does, I normally start with a salad. For his entree, DH had Florida Black Grouper with pasta. The grouper was delish - I don't like seafood, and still thought it was good!! The pasta however was SUPER spicy!! It said nothing about this on the menu, however it was so spicy DH couldn't eat it. I had the Pork Tenderloin with Goat Cheese Polenta. This was one of my favorite dishes! It was so delicious! The pork was marinated and cooked perfectly. They cook the tenderloin medium well and I prefer well, so I was a little leery, but I loved it! The polenta was also wonderful. The goat cheese flavor wasn't strong, but made the dish very rich!! They only give you a small amount and that is certainly all I could eat. For dessert, DH ordered the year of a million dreams cheesecake. It was a large piece of lemon cheesecake topped with fresh raspberries and raspberry sauce - WONDERFUL!! Very light and refreshing. I had....ummm....something chocolate....i just can't remember exactly what and it isn't on the menu allears.net has...... Isn 't that sad... I live for dessert and forgot what I had... NOTE TO SELF: Next time, WRITE IT DOWN AND PHOTOGRAPH IT!! Overall we really enjoyed Citrico's. The only thing we didn't like was DH's pasta - it was so hot that it seems it should be noted on the menu!! After we finished our meal, we took the monorail back to the Magic Kingdom and then hopped a bus back to AKL. Once we returned to our resort we put on our bathing suits and headed down to the hot tub. There are 2 hot tubs at AKL and both a wonderful, but the smaller, quieter one was our favorite. We relaxed for awhile and just enjoyed being husband and wife and at Disneyworld for the first time in our lives!

Thats so sweet about the hot tub. DH and I didn't even bring swimsuits with us when we went on our honeymoon in December. I would love to try citrico's someday because DH and I love seafood.

It stinks, doesn't it? Try living in Memphis all your life and then moving to Texas when you're 35. :) The only place to get sweet tea here is Chick Fil A. It's one of the things we cherish whenever we return to visit Memphis.

Too bad there's no sweet tea at WDW. I will have to make a note of that. Wonder if they have Dr Pepper? (It's the sweet tea of Texas - made in Waco) ;)

Hurray for an update. I hope your feeling better. :goodvibes Your meal sounds really good! I haven't heard of the restaurant so you just pointed out something new. Thanks. :) We never have enough time to swim when we are on our trips much less take a relaxing dip in the hot tub. Maybe next time:) Can't wait for more!:thumbsup2

No Dr. Pepper either. :( All Coke products. DH loves Dr. Pepper & I think he went through withdrawl not being able to have any for an entire week the last time we were there.

I had NO idea that you could go to far South for sweet tea! :sad2: Sweet Tea is a Southern staple, and Florida is definitely Southern. Glad you enjoyed your meal except for DH's pasta.

I am right there with you on the sweet tea, sister. When we went for the first time and I asked for sweet tea, the server said, "This is Florida honey, you ain't in the South anymore"...I was like..."Uuhh, ooookay"! I was quite shocked and disappointed as well!!!
I have really enjoyed your report so far...Thanks so much for posting...Can't wait to read more!

Great update!

I had the same problem as your DH with a meal being too hot and it was not mentioned on the menu. We were at Jiko and it was a shrimp dish, I had to switch meals with DH because he likes hot stuff. I was bummed because I really like shrimp, thankfully his pork dish was pretty good.

We had forgotten to pack our suits when we went to AKL, I tried to convince DH to buy suits at the Zawadi Marketplace but he would not do it. So we never had an opportunity to enjoy the pool or the hot tubs.:sad1:

Looking forward to your next installment!

Hey everyone - just returned from a Thursday - Sunday V-Day trip to Myrtle Beach, SC. Gotta unpack and do a little :laundy: Updates will be coming tomorrow - I PROMISE!!!

Just caught up on your TR! Lovin it! You gave me chills with your description of your arrival and the resort description!!:goodvibes:

Cant wait for more!!

Sorry that updates haven't been coming.... LOTS going on right now.... Stay tuned....

Ok, so we wake up to our first full day at WDW. DH woke me up with a bacon, egg, and cheese croissant and coffee from the Mara. We enjoyed breakfast out on our balcony and watched the zebras - it was sooo nice!!! After we had breakfast and got ready we headed to the bus stop to catch a bus to Hollywood Studios. I knew this would be DH's favorite place because he was DYING to ride Tower of Terror and Rockin Rollercoaster. We arrived at the park and entered and immediately began receiving tons of congratulations. We made our way to the first ride of the day - The Tower of Terror :scared1: Standby time was 30 minutes, so we decided to wait. Since it was our first time riding ToT, we enjoyed all the details on the grounds and building while waiting in the line. I also got some really great pics while waiting!!

*** As you can see, i was fascinated by the ToT!! I LOVED it and LOVED taking pictures of it!!! ***

After ToT we moved on to Rockin Rollercoaster which DH has wanted to ride since we first planned this trip. He was sooo excited to ride it!! Here's a pic of us right before we got in line.

DH and I both really, really, really loved this ride!! I'm sorta a scardy cat until I actually make myself get on, and the line kinda freaked me out being able to see the launch, but it turned out to be great!! I loved the way it was pitch black until you got right up on things and then it just magically lit up under the black light - Very Cool -

We continued walking around DHS and I caught a few good pics

We walked by Pizza Planet and I had to take a pic. I love the little green aliens in the machine that think the "claw" is their ruler!!! I still watch Toy Story just for that part!!!

We came across these broom/flower pot things and I was SOOOOOOOOOO thrilled over the - I thought they were SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO cute!!!

I thought this sign on Hollywood Blvd was sooo honeymoon appropriate and I had to snap a pic!!

DH and I came in at the last few minutes of the Indiana Jones Stunt show - DH was so upset  I promised him we would go back another day and catch it from the beginning - more on that later.
