This has probally been written about.... tell me about it. Is it worth seeing? How long should we arrive to see it? We are only doing a 2 day stop at WDW due to visiting family. Is this worth the hype or should we just do rides? Thanks! :confused3

While "some" enjoy it, the resounding sentiment on these boards has been that while it's not "horrible" and not "painful" to watch it is nothing to plan out.

I think it's something mostly for little girls or women who are young at heart. I just dont think "many" little boys or men are going to be amused by it.

I think it's a little too corney and overacted personally.

Corny yes... overacted perhaps. Did I like it? Yes, definatly. The premise of the show is that it is Cinderella's coronation cerimony. Many Cinderella characters appear in the show including Prince Charming, his father the King, The Grand Duke, the Fairy Godmother, and the royal court along with a who's-who of Princesses and Princes (all of the six fairytale couples except Ariel and Eric). The costumes are amazing, the music is nice and it's nice to see so many of the lesser-seen characters like the King, Duke, and Princes all out. If Princesses and fairy tales aren't your thing though, I would say it's very skippable. It was definatly worth it for me, but I would not say it's a must-see for everyone. Here's some pics if you're interested:

As far as how early to get there, I was there about 20-15 minutes before showtime and got a spot really close to the stage. If you want to get a spot farther away, you could probably get there 5-10 minutes prior. Also, keep in mind that the show is outside and there is no seating (besides the benches in the hub) and no covering. I would recommend seeing one of the first or last showings to avoid the Florida afternoon heat.

Unless you have little girls that love princesses..... don't even waste your time to stop and watch it if you happen to be passing by the castle.

I am really surprised that they would put on a show that is geered to such a limited audience. :confused3
I absolutely love Cinderella (hence my DIS name! :goodvibes ) But I watched this for about 3 minutes and just said "what-ever!" and left.

If you happen to be passing by the castle and the show is on you can stop to watch, unless you have little girls or even the boys who may want to see it. I don't consider it a must see.

Totally agree, don't make a special trip to see it. Disney are you listeneing??? Bring back the old type shows with characters we want to see and songs we sing for the rest of our lives.

I have never seen a Disney show with so little SHOW in it.

There is absolutely no story, no drama, and no VILLAINS.

What happens is that the various princesses and their princes get "ANNOUNCED" as they walk out and STAND THERE.

There is a bit of (not bad) music and a very FEW dance steps.

Some stage pieces rise.

A couple of small daytime fireworks get launched.

AND...

its over.
(Under 15 minutes as I counted.)

Very sad that they actually PROMOTED this as a "feature" of the 50th Anniv.

Not nearly as good as the previous Castle Shows.

One thing that really disappoints me is (and if you love the show that's great) that they have really limited the group of people that are MOST likely to find interest in this.

As a male I have no interest and most younger boys wouldnt either. However, even as a grown man, I love the childhoodishness of seeing the characters.

I am disappointed that the classic characters are not in the show at all and I really miss the great photo op they did at the end of the previous show. It's a picture you can't get anywhere else with so many characters together.

With a name like Cinderellabration......! :sad2:

As others have said, it's probably worth stopping if you have a (very) young girl or a real Princess fan. It is incredibly....sweet. Very much a little-girl-fantasy show with the 'happily ever after' theme being the only real theme in the whole show. While others have been kind, I would go so far as to say it was painful.

But then, I'm jaded.....

:rotfl2: Ok, well now that you mention it, I AGREE. I was just trying to be nice as you said.

Thanks guys - with only two days in the parks, I think I'll pass based on all the comments. Thanks disers - because of all your helpful comments and great ideas this is going to be a great trip! :flower:

Sounds PERFECT for my DD and my 2 DS. They all 3 are completely and utterly fascinated, in love, whatever you want to call it with the Princessesand Princes. Who are the 6? Aurora, Snow White, Cinderella, Belle... Who am I missing?

Guess DH and I'll just stand there and smile "sweetly" while the kids ooh and ahh...:rotfl:

I had Sleeping Beauty (Aurora) listed, so I'm still missing one.

The only thing I would add is if you can work it out where you are just waiting for a FP to kick in, it is certainly a nice way to pass the time then go use your FP on a ride. :pug:

Ariel is the one you're missing. She's also the only one not featured in Cinderellabration.

"Why would they do a show with such a limited audience range?"

Have you not been to a Target, Walmart, Kohl's, Kmart, grocery store, mall, etc. in the last two years?

Cinderellabration is a reward to all girls aged 2-6 for making them so much money on scads of pink princessy products, from panties to pencils to costumes. The Disney princesses used to have small section in an aisle at Toys R US and Walmart. NOW THEY HAVE THEIR OWN AISLE! :)

So I think we know why they would do a show with such a limited audience range. ;)

princess: princess: princess: princess: princess: princess: princess: princess: princess: princess: princess: princess: princess: princess:
