CINDERELLA!!!! The Vandy girls are BACK!!!**UPDATE 8-8-09! THE END-FINALLY! Page 83**

Your day at HS looks like so much fun! I've never seen this parade or gone in "One Man's Dream". MGM was always my least favorite park- but this TR is getting me excited to be there. Any other "must see's" in HS? I usually hit Tower of Terror, Aerosmith, Great Movie Ride, and Star Tours. I never spend a full day here. Looks like I've been missing out!

Thanks for the great pictures and commentary. This sounds like such a fun trip!

Awesome shots! I saw this parade in DL and I never got to see it at WDW this trip, but your pics and videos made it so I sorta did see it! Thanks! My DH went nutso for it in DL- it was his fav parade ever!

thanks so much for all your comments. we feel so loved!!!!

My DH was reading a Stephen King book late in my pregnancy and was finishing it up right around the time DD was born. There was a little girl in the book with the nickname "Pie" so DH called DD that when she was first born. When she was 2 months old we celebrated her first halloween and we dressed her up as a pumpkin so her nickname morphed from Pie > Pumpkin Pie > Punkin Pie > Punkin. And that's what has stuck for the past 11 years. :) We call her Punkin more than by her own name (Emily). On our EPCOT tombstone, uh, I mean Leave a Legacy tile we have my first name and DH's first name and he insisted we put Punkin instead of Emily. That'll be funny when she goes to EPCOT with her grandkids and they'll be like "Who's Punkin??". :rotfl:

such a cute story!!!!

Oh, I wanted to tell you, Dawn, that we tried Ted's Montana Grill last weekend -- we loved it -- even the kids although Chelsea was a little freaked out by the bison head on the wall! We liked the decor so much, we decided we should add the Wilderness Lodge to our list of resorts! Thanks for the recommendation!

glad you liked it! we haven't been there in awhile. now i'm wanting to go there to eat soon!

You should check out this website I found last weekend (this was after I went to the mall and got nostalgic after seeing the rocks).

http://www.thrillhunter.com/Opryland.html

There are some really cool pictures on here of all of the rides and some video clips too. Oh, and you'll love the 80's hairdo's :scared1:

I work in the labs in the Vanderbilt Clinic as a medical transcriptionist :thumbsup2

And Vandy won!!!

Maybe all of us locals/Opryland mourners could have a dis meet sometime ;)
I'm with you guys though. I would be more than happy to drive out to Cool Springs to the Disney Store if they'd kept Opryland!:sad2:

thanks for that link. i think erica and i had seen it before in her TR. i did send it to my family and some friends back in nashville this time to bring back some memories!

cool - i'm a court reporter so we have a similar job. well, not really, but as far as the typing and transcribing it's similar. a lot of the girls that were initially in court reporting school with me went to medical transcription.

We have never gone to take a look at WL before -- we should at least go explore it on the next trip. :goodvibes

you would LOVE it there!!! i've never stayed there but i've visited and it's beautiful.

I love to shop, but will not travel to Nashville to go to a Mall.

SERIOUSLY!!! i will never understand that.

hey ladies!!! I am back from the beach and just started on your report!!! Good start!!!!

hope you had a good time!!!

Hey Ladies! I think Photobucket HATES me!!!! :badpc: So I'm getting offline!!! AHHHH!!!!!

Please let me know if you got to the dinner at Boma yet, so I can share a story and a pic or two - that is, if PHOTOBUCKET ALLOWS MEEE!!!!! :headache:

hey, glenda!!! i think erica told you, but we're only on day 1 and boma was day 4, so we have a ways to go yet! no worries. glad you're home safe.

I'll be sure to show Brooklynn your MichaelSulley picture next time she's here.

i tried to zoom in on michaelsulley a couple of times for brooklynn in the video. ;)

Great pictures! Speaking of the heat in the parade, I was talking to a friend of mine who's a cast member along with her sister. Her sister participates in the parades, and my friend was telling me that while Disney can do a little with the heat when the characters go out for signings (i.e. stand out for 20 minutes instead of 40), there is obviously nothing that can be done for the parades, and they are just brutal for the characters participating in them.

i just talked to a lady whose sister used to play minnie mouse. she said when it was hot out she'd lose at least 5 pounds a shift form the sweating! :scared:

I especially enjoyed the guy next to you Dawn, who kept sticking his head into your view!

what was so bad is that he had a big, shiny, sweaty nose. gross!!!!

Any other "must see's" in HS?

i love the animation academy, too. it's cool to try to draw a disney character. oh, and beauty and the beast is a favorite of mine, too. but that's because that movie is my 3rd-favorite disney movie ever.

Too funny! O.k. I won't ask again.

don't feel too bad.....she wouldn't tell me either! :lmao: just kidding, erica.

Ok...I guess I didn't look that closely :lmao:

OH I FORGOT ABOUT THIS!!!! And we talked about doing that too, b/c I told you I wasn't going to let you take a picture of my drawing. Boo....now we have to go back!!

we now interrupt this rockin' trip report to bring you.....

DAWN & ANNA'S SCENT-SATIONAL SUNDAY SPA EXPERIENCE!!!!

you know you're excited. :lmao:

guys, you may want to just skip this. probably not too interesting for you. ladies, if you ever get invited to a party featuring products from the body shop, GO! it's so much fun and you will leave with velvety, soft skin that smells wonderful!

anna and i had a "girls day out" party today with products from the body shop. if you don't know who anna is, you didn't read my last TR (go read it now! ) she's one of my best friends. it was a lot of fun and of course i have to share the pictures. i told erica she could've just stayed with me this week and gone to the party today, but i'm thinking she kinda missed her hubby so she declined. ;)

me, anna and diane, the body shop chick who provides the products to sample.......

for those of you who read my september 2007 TR, you remember erin (and tara actually met her!) each person there had to go around the room and tell how they met me and anna and what they admire about us. here erin is telling how we met. long story short, we were each serving at chili's and this pyscho lady worked there and she brought in york peppermint patties and put them on a cookie sheet and said she made them for us. i walked up to them, not knowing who had put them there, and said, "what's this?" erin (who i'd never really talked to before) told me so-and-so made those for us and i said, "no, she didn't. those are flippin york peppermint patties!" the psycho lady was standing behind me and i had no idea and erin was doing the "cut it or you're gonna get your neck slit" sign to me and we had a good laugh about it later. so that's how we bonded. anyway, she's a total hoot and can tell that story and make it soooooo funny!

we now return to your regularly-scheduled programming. (i should have a real update tomorrow!)

Well heck to bad I didn't come :lmao:

I'm glad you guys had a great time

Love that picture of you and Erin :rotfl:

Hope you sold a lot :teeth:

O love belly rolling laughs with friends. I love laughing until I just want to pee and my face hurts. That's what it looks like you guys did.

is it over, can I stop not reading. :rotfl2:

Great pictures of the Block Party! It looks like lots of fun to watch.

And Dawn, that Body Shop party looks great too! Nice girly night out!

The block party looks really fun. I actually hadn't planned on trying to see that but this may have changed my mind.

Your spa party looks so fun! Your house is beautiful!!

That looks like so much fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for sharing!

Scott, you are too funny! Can I stop not reading? haha

Ok, so I'm late, but that is pretty much "par for the course" for me lately....actually, I'm always late, so this is nothing new. :rotfl2:

Love your report so far!

That Toy Story Ride looks like so much fun. Looks like they made the line as fun as the ride.

Loved the Block Party video. It's like I was standing there with you. :goodvibes

Oh, and I am another one that is  that Opryland is gone. I try to describe it to my kids, but it just isn't the same. :sad2: They would have so much fun going there now. We took my mom to the Opryland hotel in May, and we never stepped foot in the mall.

Oh, and that Body Shop stuff is AWESOME!!!! Didn't your feet feel so soft after you were done. I have the Coconut body butter. It smells like I've been to the beach, plus it makes your skin so smooth.

Ok, now I'm caught up and ready for the ride. :drive:

Your pictures of Block Party Bash were so great that now I am doubting my carefully planned itinerary. The way it is set up now we wouldn't be able to see it, but after seeing your pictures I really want to!

Well heck to bad I didn't come :lmao:

I'm glad you guys had a great time

i'm tellin ya - you would've had a blast! anna's having another one so i'll let you know when it is and you can come to that one. ;)

O love belly rolling laughs with friends. I love laughing until I just want to pee and my face hurts. That's what it looks like you guys did.

erin can always make me laugh. we have the same sense of humor!

is it over, can I stop not reading. :rotfl2:

it is OFFICIALLY safe to read now! we are on another page so you're good! :rotfl:

Great pictures of the Block Party! It looks like lots of fun to watch.

And Dawn, that Body Shop party looks great too! Nice girly night out!

i'll let erica take credit for those pics - i'm the videographer and she's the photographer for that.

What lovely shiny hair this girl has!! :thumbsup2

 i'll tell her you said that! you should've seen it a year ago - it was SUPER short. she's growing it out so she will appreciate the compliment.

The block party looks really fun. I actually hadn't planned on trying to see that but this may have changed my mind.

Your spa party looks so fun! Your house is beautiful!!

hope you get to see it - it was great! oh, and that's not my house; it's anna's. but i'll tell her you said so!

That looks like so much fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for sharing!

Scott, you are too funny! Can I stop not reading? haha

you're welcome! i knew boys would get bored with that so i figured a disclaimer was in order.

Hi!! I am joining in on this TR too. I was there the same time as you girls!!

WELCOME!!!!!!! :goodvibes hope you had a great trip!

Ok, so I'm late, but that is pretty much "par for the course" for me lately....actually, I'm always late, so this is nothing new. :rotfl2:

better late than never! you haven't missed much anyways - we're still on day one! the opryland thing will never make any sense to me. who knows??? :confused3 i have the shea butter body butter and salt scrub and i LOVE it!!!! the scent is just right for me - not too heavy and not too light.

Your pictures of Block Party Bash were so great that now I am doubting my carefully planned itinerary. The way it is set up now we wouldn't be able to see it, but after seeing your pictures I really want to!

it's really cool! it's pretty much impossible to do all of DHS in one day because most of it is shows and they take 15-20 minutes each. here are some of my thoughts on the attractions that i can think of, but you know everyone has different opinions of all this stuff. maybe this will help you narrow down your list! you may already know a lot of this stuff. if so, just ignore me!

-tower of terror - MUST DO
-rockin rollercoaster - MUST DO
-toy story mania - MUST DO
-beauty and the beast - great show if you love B&B like i do!
-indiana jones - it's okay but i can take it or leave it. not upset at all if i miss it.
-star tours - it's cool if you're a star wars fan, but we didn't even do it last time and my husband is a HUGE star wars fan. it's just not that impressive.
-sounds dangerous - never done it and i heard it's lame.
-muppets 3D - it's cute but honestly mickey's philharmagic and it's tough to be a bug are better 3D shows in my opinion
-backlot tour - cool but not necessary
-lights motors action - if you have boys/men in your party they'll love this.
-great movie ride - LAME! i hate this ride. i know a lot of people like it though.
-narnia - it's cool but it's kind of a waste of time if you don't like the movie. it's basically just a big preview with movie props
-one man's dream - really cool if you are interested in walt disney's life and how he created all that he did.
-voyage of the little mermaid - cute show but not a must-do for me.
-animation academy - it's neat to be able to try to draw characters. plus you can meet sorceror mickey and the incredibles in there if that interests you.
-playhouse disney - i've never been but i hear it's a must if you have little ones.
-fantasmic - MUST do if you've never seen it. i love this show!

i've probably forgotten some but i hope that helps!

update coming up tonight!!!! :cool1:
