If I have the dining plan linked to my Disney experience before I make the reservation do the still charge my credit card in full? Or just hold the number for a no show and take the credits?

They won't "take the credits" because you don't have any credits yet. You won't have credits until you arrive at WDW and pay (with credits) to pick up your dinner show tickets.

I believe if you call them you can give a credit card number as a guarantee. Results are mixed when booking online.

I was able to book CRT and HDDR online with our deluxe dining package for May. There were 2 options= use the dining plan to hold with a cc guarantee or pay in full.
