THis is kind of a new offering...but we went to see Cinderella at the GF in March 2003 with DD/6 yr old. The mice were there and the Prince and others - which was nice. They come around to your tables for pictures - nice instead of having to track them down - and the buffet was nice - in particular my daughter loved, and I mean LOVED the kids sized buffet with kiddie food on it. She loved filling her own plate. I will say it was a bit of a madhouse there, but you can stay as long as your sanity permits - so it seemed like a pretty good deal to me....characters wandering around the whole time. They serve some pretty good prime rib - although they slice it pretty thin and it seems to get cold before you get back to your seat....my husband, who is a obscenely big tipper tipped our waiter a $1 for being a big pain in our butts - and like I said, it was a big of a madhouse with a bizzillion kids and characters - and an amazing number of young children who burst into tears when the characters came up close for pictures and meeting the kiddies.....

I had thought it would be nice to schedule more than one of these dinner dates for our daughter while we were there - but frankly, I don't think I had the energy for it had I made more than one.

I far far far far more suggest going to the parade at the Magic Kingdom and getting there for a good seat right there on the drive for the kids to see the characters up close. That was my daughter's favorite thing.....well, that and Tower of Terror....(can you believe it???)....the child slid off the seat to hide when Hopper came out in the Bug's Life show, but LOVED Tower of Terror. Who'da thunk it?

Sorry your experience at Cinderella's Royal Feast was not terrific. The character buffets usually are a little of a madhouse but we put up with it because we like to see the characters as much as the kids. We had a waitress with an attitude problems there. We had asked her to split the check which ever other server on the trip did with no problem and no mistakes. She made a mistake and when we showed it to her nicely she took the check portfolios without giving us a chance to explain fully and then threw one of them back at us because it did not contain any payment. That said, my niece enjoyed it very much as Cinderella is one of her favorites and we got to see her without having to search or wait in line.
The food was pretty good, I especially enjoyed the chilled strawberry soup.
Our first trip two years ago with my sister's twins (boy and girl), they were 3.5 yo and before the trip had just begun to warm up to any type of characters (Santa, Easter bunny, Elmo) a few months before and we were not sure how they would react. Scheduling Chef Mickey's was a gamble for the first night but we figured it would set the tone for the whole trip. Goofy was in the front holding court and my nephew went right up to him while my niece was a little scared. However Minnie Mouse was the first character that visited our table and the rest is history as the kids wanted to see more of the characters anywhere we went that week. Of course they are veterans now with three trips under their belts but still will not ask for autographs or take pictures with any of the villians.
