No official word from Disney.

I hope they continue to award it to random guests.

This is my first trip to the YOMD board. Has there been any talk about them renting out the room? I wouldn't be able to afford it, but I know there are people out there that could.

There was a thread like this before and someone suggested that it should be used for families of kids on Make a Wish type trips. I thought that sounded like a great idea. Maybe they could also continue to give it away on ocassion. I just hope they don't turn it into something like a $5000 a night hotel suite. It just seems like there should be the illusion that it is accessable to anyone, and putting that kind of pricetag on it (even though there are people who can and will pay it) would just make it completely unattainable for the vast majority of people. Which, in a weird way, cheapens it.

Disney, as magical as it is, is about making money. Consider the BBB. So popular, they are opening a second one. And guess what, they are raising the price.

I would love to see the castle offered as something special, a random chance to add it to your stay, etc... Regular reservations would never work. It will be interesting to see what they do.

Any company has to make money .... Renting the castle doesnt make or break their bank acct.
