My DH and I were married October 3rd, 2008. We were unsure what we were going to do to celebrate our one year anniversary. I heard that Disney had come out with the “get in free on your birthday” promotion and I thought it might be fun to celebrate Jason’s birthday (September 19th) and our anniversary at the same time. But DH was laid off right before Thanksgiving of last year and we weren’t sure if we would be able to do anything!! When he was offered a job in April the first thing he said was “As soon as I sign that contract we are booking our Disney trip!” So we booked our hotel and will be staying at the Anaheim Camelot Inn & Suites. We picked this hotel because it was where we stayed on our first trip to Disney together and for our engagement trip. We will be there September 17th through September 20th.

I am so excited for this trip! Currently it is just us going but we are trying to get my MIL and my mom to join us. They came with us in December and we had a blast! I guess I should introduce the cast of characters.

Me DW (24) ::MinnieMo – a Disney lover since I was little (a cute story is me asking my mom to call me Cinderella!) and a lover of Disneyland since my first trip with DH (then DBF). I currently work at a direct mail marketing firm but am going back to school to get my teaching credential.

Jason DH (26 and turning 27 during the trip) ::MickeyMo – Jason has loved Disney since he was a small child. His fondest memories of childhood are the yearly trips his family would take to Disneyland.

That’s all I have for right now – we can’t make PS until 30 days out but I did have a cute little surprise for my hubby to celebrate our 100 days away…

…but you’ll have to wait for the next post to hear about it!

Coming up…What? We are 100 Days Away!?

I hope everyone enjoys our stories! I'll try to pitch in as much as possible. pirate:

So, I had been checking the Disney Outlet online every few days searching for some good deals. I wanted to buy Jason and I a little something to celebrate our 100 days away from our Disney vacation. (I actually stole this idea from pmama - thanks!:goodvibes) I finally found a great shirt for Jason and a sweatshirt for me all for a grand total of $15! When the package arrived I grabbed it, tore it open and made Jason close his eyes (I had told him that I bought something for him but I wanted what it was to be a surprise).

Here is what I got Jason

The first movie that Jason and I saw together was The Incredibles so I thought this shirt was perfect!

Here is what I got for myself

Do you notice the huge Haunted Mansion poster in the background? Jason got that when he was in high school and we had it framed and it's in our "dining room".

So we opened our little gifts and celebrated being 100 days away from our trip!! I think the regular Disney store online is having their big sale right now so I'm on the lookout for more cute things on the outlet site. I want to do a 60 day and a 30 day celebration too (once again; thanks pmama for the idea!!).

Sitting here at work I can't wait to get down to Disneyland, why can't being in Disneyland just be our job?

subbing to read about your travels as we have a possible trip planned as well. You two are too cute:cutie:

Isn't that the truth? :lmao: I tried to convince DH to move us to FL so I could work at WDW and be there all the time but it didn't happen.

Hi there! Congrats on being less than 100 days away! Can't wait to read your TR! :thumbsup2 *Subbing*

Hey! Subbing in for your ptr. How cute your little surprise! Can't wait to hear more. I've started my honeymoon trip report, so c'mon over you two. Please... I need more than one reader if I want to continue!

I wish it were our job! Wouldn't that be the best? :rotfl:

Thanks! I can't imagine why your DH didn't go for that!! :rotfl2: Although, I have thought about it; do you think that working there would take away some of the magic (seeing the backstage areas etc) or enhance it (you get to add magic to people's day)?

Thanks! We can't wait to get down there - how do you think I survive the work week? I keep telling myself "this job pays for you to go to Disney..."

I have to admit that I've been a lurker on your honeymoon TR - I'm headed over now to announce myself! :goodvibes

Hello everyone! Just an update for y'all. Jackie and I have been talking and there a few things that we simply must do.
  • A dinner at the Blue Bayou
  • Multiple visits to ESPN Zone for my Birthday (thats mine)
  • See the new fireworks
  • Ride Indiana Jones as much as possible!

I know more will pop up, but thats the rough list I have. And I have to wear my new shirt down! I can't wait for our traditional early morning drive. Its going to a blast!

Blue Bayou sounds great! Try to snag a waterside table so you can wave at all the PotC riders! :goodvibes

We did just that on our honeymoon! When we went to check in we asked for a water view in the middle (when we went right after we got engaged we asked for a water view but we were behind a tree and next to the very noisy kitchen - not romantic or atmospheric at all! :confused3). We got the perfect place right before the boats pass the shack with the banjo player. I'm hoping to get that perfect of a spot again. :rolleyes1

Two more months, god I want to fast forward time. Each day we get closer I get more and more excited. I really can't wait for the drive down even. I love a good road trip, and disneyland is the best. I love seeing the grape vine coming down I-5 and realizing your only an hour and a half away. And its fun remembering little spots on the trip that I've seen ever since I was a kid. When I was a kid on of the main markers I used was the gigantic pipes on the side of the hill right before you hit the grapevine. For some reason that always stuck out in my mind when I was a kid. I used to think they were so cool. And when I saw them I knew I was getting so close. I like seeing the top of dodger stadium too, only to give it a dirty look because I'm the biggest Giants fan. All these fun times make me happy and thats even before we get to the park! Just two months more...

I have some news. We have been nagging my mom to come with us for several months now but she just had hip replacement surgury about 2 months ago and did not know if she'd be ok to go. But I had lunch with my family yesterday and got some great news. First she is healing much faster then she thought, see is really moving around and had no pain. And second, she is coming to disneyland with us! Now the tables have turned. She took me to disneyland and got me hooked, but now I'm taking her. Its going to be so fun, she also said that she is going the first weekend in december, so now the plan is the 3 of us are doing to get deluxe passes and go at least twice this year. We'll also try to plan one more trip in the spring! Hopefully it turns out to be a great disney year! Here is a photo of all three of us in main street.

And here is another pic of us at ESPN Zone

I can't wait :goodvibes

I actually really like the drive part too. Even though ours was much longer and I've only done it once, so don't really have any landmarks.

If you're a Giants fan you'll hate the 2nd night in San Francisco of my trip report... but you've got a few days til we'll get to that!

Glad your mom is able to go with you guys and that she's healing quickly.

Yay!! We are getting so close!! Today was a majorly annoying day at work and I think the only thing that got me through it was watching the Disneyland fireworks on You Tube. Does anyone know if they have changed them now that it's not the Year of a Million Dreams or the Anniversary? I love that fireworks show. pixiedust:

So, I found a link from Lynn5700 (thank you!) for a website called Customize It. You can customize t-shirts and tank tops and I really wish that I would have found this before our wedding last year because having something other then the standard "bride" tank would have been cool. Although I did love wearing the Bride shirts. :goodvibes They were having a sale on tank tops and I designed an anniversary shirt for myself. I asked Jason if he would wear one and his exact response was "umm...thats a little much." :rotfl2: I guess it'll just be me declaring our one year anniversary!!

Here is a link to the shirt I designed. Let me know if you can't see it.

Jason thought it was too cute.

Hey! Cute shirt! I couldn't get my Jason to wear anything either, but that's ok, I got over it. Sorta. Less than two months now, how exciting! I totally don't have anything to look forward to right now, so my life is kinda boring. So I need an update to live vicariously through you, thanks!

You can live vicariously through us anytime!! :goodvibes

We actually just had another update; a 4th person has been added to our party! Jason's sister (Jaime) is driving down with us and spending the afternoon/evening with us that day. She originally was not planning on going, but her love of Disney won out! :lmao: She will be meeting up with her friends Thursday evening and they are heading down to San Diego to celebrate her birthday there for the rest of the weekend (her birthday is one day after Jason's, but they are 3 years apart).

Here is a picture of the 3 of us kids together in Disneyland last December. Jaime arranged for us to eat dinner at Club 33! Her best friend's sister's boyfriend's family are members.

Here is a cute one of us at ESPN Zone. My mom is the second from the left. I don't think she'll be joining us. :confused3

I make PS reservations on Wednesday!!! :cool1: Even though it's only for Blue Bayou I'm still excited.

This trip keeps getting better :) but its too bad we can't afford club 33 this time. Oh well, we'll get back some day.

One month away! The trip gets ever closer! Hopefully this month goes by real fast! :)
