Cinderella: a major error in the movie (do you agree)?

Why is Cinderella marketed as having a blue ball gown when she wore no such thing in the movie? Can someone school me on this?

ETA: Maybe the error wasn't in the movie, per se, but in the marketing.

Hmmm... what color do you think the dress was that she wore to the ball? I would call it blue (although it is a clearer/lightish blue, I guess.)

It seems to be in the blue family........

Didn't the fairy godmothers keep changing her gown from blue to pink?

No, the one she made (or the mice) was pink, but then the step-sisters tore it up and the fairy godmother made her a new one (the blueish one.)

Wrong princess:, that was Aurora aka Sleeping Beauty :goodvibes

The dress color never bothered me, but when she dips her fingers in the fountain during "So this is Love" and is wearing gloves, it makes me crazy every time!!! :lmao:

Her dress was blue like the color of her eyes.

Negative. The dress was pure white. Cinderella wore a white gown to the ball.

Interesting because in this picture from the movie I clearly see blue. And doesn't the Fairy Godmother even say that she is making the dress to match Cinderella's blue eyes?

Hmm..could it be the color adjustment on my TV? The Godmother did say that! ETA: No now that I think of it, it was totally white.

It's the color of her hair that's always bothered me. It goes from brown to blonde. Is that intentional?? Look at the photo in the previous post and then think of how Cinderella looks at WDW. The hair is much darker in the movie.

I think its just a VERY VERY pale blue in the movie but the color of the dress was amped up for merchandizing. :)

In this picture you can clearly tell that the petticoat underneath is white and that it is a different color than the dress on top of it. Its just that the blue is so very pale that it could be mistaken for silver.

Her dress is silvery, and when she dances with the Prince in the moonlight it looks blue. It's kinda like Belle's dress--it's supposed to be gold but it looks yellow.
