Chunkymonkey and Chubbyhubby's MAGICal 1st Disney Cruise - a May 2015 Trip Report! COMPLETED

@pepe3penelope and anyone else who is interested, here's the picture of the necklace my sister-in-law and niece gave me at the end of the cruise!

It's from the brand Crislu and they got it from one of the stores on the Magic (White Sails?) - the one that sold the jewelry. It's actually very tiny and delicate, although they had other designs and stuff on board the ship if you wanted something bigger. It's a very nice necklace!

What a beautiful necklace!!! I can't believe when I wake up tomorrow morning my wait til my next cruise will be in the teens (19 days left)!!! Aaaaggghhh! I can't contain myself & I have a lot to do.

I'm really looking forward to shopping for jewelry onboard. I want to get the DCL Alex and Ani bracelet & something else with the DCL logo! Maybe necklace, bracelet, earrings? We shall see!

I'm looking forward to shopping aboard the Fantasy! I heard there are more stores/bigger stores there, not that the Magic was lacking. It had a lot of stuff, it was very exciting to go in all the time, although I risk being much more poor coming out! That rose gold necklace you got at DCA sounds beautiful! I love rose gold!

I have to say that shopping on Disney Fantasy was so so fun yet bank breaking at the same time!!! I really have to TRY my best to give myself a limit this time. I went bonkers last time.

I will do a TR but honestly probably won't start it til after the cruise. Not sure if I'll have time to do an intro beforehand. I will let you know if I do!!!

Thanks! It's actually very subtle since the pendant is very small, and the chain is so thin. It's like a floating pendant around your neck. It's pretty! I think you will get one on your next cruise

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the review! I highly recommend the tour if you don't want to do the usual Atlantis etc. It's just really hot so I'd bring a hat and plenty of water to stay hydrated. Have a magical time on your cruise!

We have a water park at home and the girls are really tired of it! They are kind of spoiled that way as we also have a theme park here. We have lived in Germany and South Korea so they are used to trying new foods. When our tour guide in Grand Cayman spoke about his wife's cooking they immediately said "that would make a fantastic tour, we could try some authentic food and maybe learn to make one!" so this will be perfect.

Thank you for taking the time to explain even the small details...like what to bring. We just booked our first Disney Cruise and am trying to get up to speed on all of the fun stuff...like decorating the door...events, etc. Thanks!!

Yes!! We just booked our first one! We leave in Sept. on the Disney Magic out of Barcelona ...and we are all super excited!! Trying to plan now, of course Keep up the great trip reports! I may check back in on another one!!!

Oh my gosh. Ya know, one of my greatest joys in life, is finding a truly great trip report and sitting back for a couple of hours and getting lost in it. You did this for me tonite!! I thank you. I think I started this cruise with you at 11:30 pm (I'm a night owl for sure) and it is now 2:00 am. You thoroughly entertained me, loved every minute of it! I realize you wrote this over a year ago, but it feels recent because of your enthusiasm. I'll have to pick it up tomorrow night, just finished pg. 6, on your way up to DW for a week. I wonder if you saw my son who was working at MK (part of the team that started magic bands, he now works for Orlando soccer club)! After that good read, I'll have to get over to your Fantasy cruise, can't wait for that!!

Wow, thank you so much for reading!! We loved the cruise and loved the Magic! I just feel so compelled to capture all my excitement in words, hence all these trip reports! I am finishing up the TR on our trip this year. The links are in my siggy. The Fantasy...an amazing ship. It has all the bells and whistles and then some. I really loved that ship, it was shiny and new and BIG, very different from the Magic. I thought the entertainment on both was great. Service on the Magic was maybe a tad more personable. But overall I loved both ships!
That's cool that your son used to work for Disney! It could have been possible I ran into him! I have met some CMs who were friends of friends and I've always stopped and said hi! I even got free cotton candy once! hehe.
