Chunkymonkey and Chubbyhubby's F+W Free Dining Fest! 9/26 One more day!

I have not seen those food items before.
I'm not sure if I would want to try chicken in a waffle :confused3 I'll let you try it & tell us how it is ;)
But that mac n cheese hot dog looks really good!! :thumbsup2

I will try it and write all about it :) I may love it or hate it because sometimes the whole sweet n salty flavors can either sit really well or badly with me.

Hey! I'm joining in and subbing! Your plans look great so far!:thumbsup2 I love Le Cellier and Ohana's! The bread pudding has to be the most amazing thing I've ever tasted!! If you like cupcakes, something to add to your list to try is the Red Velvet Cheesecake Cupcake from DHS's Starring Rolls Cafe!! :lovestruc That cupcake is awesome, and it's so big two people can share just one!

Hi! Thanks for visiting! Gald to have you on board! Yes the bread pudding is my favorite part! It basically brings my sweet tooth back. The red velvet cheesecake cupcake sounds divine. I'll have to check that out at DHS!

Wow, you found a ton of food items I've never heard of.

The highlight to me is those waffles - I just sent a link of the waffles to my husband, and he went nuts. Those are definitely making their way onto our dining plan list...
FYI from what I found out, it doesn't look like they are available as CS or even as a snack. Oh well. I think it's still totally worth getting them! A cheap replacement for a meal, and we can use our credits for something else.

I also told my husband about the hot dog. He says: "Can I have two?" ;)

Cool! Thanks for doing the research for me. LOL. I hope they are as good as they look. I wonder if they provide syrup for the waffle. :rotfl:

I am here! Super excited for you that you will be staying at AoA!!!

The food items all look way too yummy.

Dd had the waffle sandwich (I think a couple different kinds) on her last trip. She love them.

I had the guava cupcake on my last trip...was AMAZING. I think you will like it because what you said about cupcakes.. I feel the same way. I don't like a lot of frosting and I don't want it overly sweet.

The drinks... okay, so now I have to put them on my list too.

I like mac n cheese on hot dogs...so add that to my list too. When we at at Goofy's Kitchen recently, we had mac n cheese pizza.. Who would have thought it would have been sooo yummy.

Yum, I remember reading about that cupcake on your TR! I guess you have inspired me to try it.

How was your trip to DL? I guess I will read all about it on your TR/PTR? Are you doing a separate TR for your DL trip?

I think cheese makes everything better! And Mac and Cheese infinitely so. LOL.

A Quick Update:

1) I have purchased our plane tickets, and they were the best price I have ever paid for a non-stop round trip to Orlando from NYC! They were only 150 pp because I got them on a one-day sale from American Airlines. I don't really have any airline loyalty...I honestly just purchase the best priced airfare that gets me in at the times I want. If they are all the same price, then yes I will pick certain airlines over others, like Jetblue or Southwest, mainly because of their free checked bags. AA doesn't offer free checked bags, but we dont' plan on checking bags anyways...I rarely do, however it is kind of nice to not carry the bags on DME. I guess I will decide if I want to check bags or not later. Even with the price of the checked bags, it is still cheaper than the cheapest Jetblue flight.

2) I purchased our tickets to Disney Hollywood Villains Bash! For those of you who don't know what it is (I honestly didn't until Ann told me about it!), it's part of the ToT 10-miler weekend. It is an evening from 10:30pm until 3am to enjoy DHS rides and villainous characters throughout the park. I think it'll be fun. I've never done an additional activity at the parks (like MNSSHP) but I thought this one will be fun...that way we dont' have to make RP to get FP for TSM. LOL. It isn't cheap though...I was very reluctant to pay an extra 44 dollars pp on top of our park hopper tickets...and including shipping and tax came out to about 93 dollars total for both of us. I tried to see if they would do will call and so I can pick up my tickets there and save 5 bucks on shipping but there wasn't an option to do so unless you purchase your tickets directly on WDW property. Since we only have until Aug 31 to get the advanced price and I wasn't going to be on property until Sept 27th, we still saved about 5 bucks by purchasing it online. Now, I just have to remember to pack the tickets!!! Last year when we went to WWOHP, I had left our pre-ordered Univeral Studios and IoA tickets at home and didn't realize it until we checked into the resort. DOH. I ended up repurchasing tickets and selling our previous ones at a 30 dollar loss. Oh well.

Someone better remind me before our trip! :flower3:

I've never heard of the Villains Bash! That sounds fun; I bet there will be a lot af rare characters!!

That Villains Bash sounds pretty good. Do you know if they offer it all through October? I am thinking my 14 year old would really like that. The hotdog with mac & cheese looks amazing. I believe that will make it onto my list of must tries.

I hope so! I had never heard of it before! I am looking forward to it.

I think it's only one night, after the ToT 10-mile run through the park. It's on Sept 29th from 10:30pm-3am. It's meant for spectators of the run, although anyone can go, and usually only people aware of the run know about the bash. I obviously, am not running :rotfl: but will be enjoying the festivities.

Hello! Just found your PTR! I am also doing a trip based on the FOOD!! I actually sent a picture of that hot dog to my hubby! It sounds right up his alley... However, he is starting a new business selling hot dogs so I doubt he will want any on vacation! :rotfl2:

Yeah! Totally! Although we may do it even earlier. We want to go to the Villains bash at DHS the night you guys are running. Maybe we can meet up there? Although I am sure you guys will be tired and sore. Kudos to you both for running 10 miles on vacation! I am not a good runner, otherwise i'd join you.
!

I think that I will look horrid...but I know I would love to meet up then!!! I am hoping that Betsy and I both get placed in better than last corals so that we can maybe be done by 1am...or even sooner (yes, I am being ambitious...but saturday's run averaged 11 minutes 15 seconds a mile..so I think we can get it done 2 and a half hours)

I can't wait to have a good cupcake. The cupcakes in DL just didn't quite compare... and yes, I am doing a TR for the DLR trip... link is in my sig.

:cool1::cool1: for both the price of the plane tickets and for getting them!!! Also... I am so glad you got your tickets for the villians bash. I bet between Betsy and I... we can remind you to remember to bring them. I think the party is now going until 4am. I think I read that... :scratchin 4am is crazy!!!

Yep... just one night. I wonder how it will compare to any of the other after hours parties such as MNSSHP. I know it isn't in MK, but some of those rides in DHS are big and tend to have long lines.

Your pre-trip is making me hungry! Thanks for the link to the food blog - fun! I was hoping to do that ToT run this year so I'll look forward to your report about the Villain's bash!

Wow - selling hot dogs! Sounds like fun! Are they regular hot dogs or gourmet hot dogs? Either way, sounds like a yummy business.

That is awesome! I'm sure you will look amazing even after a 10 mile run. Do you think there will be food available in the park during that time?

Yes definitely you and Betsy need to tag team to remind me to bring them. LOL. I may just keep them in my wallet so then I know I'll never forget them. They are just a little bulky.

Yeah!! Looking forward to reading your DLR TR!

Hi!! You're welcome! I love blogs about food. And a blog about Disney AND food? Sign me up! You can also subscribe to them via facebook. I love getting updates and looking at all the food available for my consumption on my trip!

He says that he found someone to make custom hot dogs for him! (I'm hoping I get to try them next week!)

I am not sure if there will be food. I know there should be some for the racers, but... not sure if stands will be open.

Betsy and I will be sure to remind you ;)

Joining in :thumbsup2 Great start to your PTR. You and your dh make a beautiful couple! I went to F&W last year for the first time and loved it...so sad I'll be missing it this trip :sad2: I'm hoping to try the sweet and spicy chicken waffle sandwich as well...and why is this the first time I've heard about this triple yeti blast :scratchin ??? Another thing to add to my list!

I always love your TR's! :goodvibes Looking forward to reading along!

Also, this is a totally different race, but I did the Wine and Dine half marathon in 2010 and they had Epcot open until 3 a.m. for the racers, friends/family, and anybody else who bought a ticket. It was a Saturday night (is this race on a Saturday?). Everything was open around World Showcase (even the two rides) and all the F&W booths/kiosks. I hope this race is different or doesn't bring as big of a crowd as it was absolutely PACKED in Epcot after the race. Literally wall to wall people. Every F&WF kiosk/booth had an enormous line. It was absolute disorganized madness. Maybe they've learned not to sell so many tickets to these after hours events...

Yum! Sounds fun and where can we try some of this deliciousness too?

I will be sure to remind you guys to remind me. :thumbsup2
I guess we'll see when we get there! I will just have to remind myself to eat a big dinner before heading on over to DHS. Most likely it'll just be drinks and snacks I assume. I mean, I think they would make a killing on smoothies and soda.

Aww thank you :flower3: you are too sweet. And photoshop does wonders too...:rotfl2:

Glad to help you out in making your "must try" list longer! I know I have a super long list too...but of course when I get there, I eat with my eyes first and I just want to eat EVERYTHING.

Hi Welcome! Thank you!! That F+W Half Marathon sounds great, but the crowds does sound nuts! :crazy2: I am hoping that since this isn't at Epcot that DHS will not be too crowded. From what I hear, the party is at about 60% capacity now...and I guess it depends on how quickly they sell the tickets.

Hi,
We will miss you by 6 days. AofA looks so nice. We were booked there but I canceled it.

Tusker House breakfast is so good. It is my favorite character meal.

I had no idea about those of those food choices you had pics of. They look good and that drink in AK looks delicious.

Flying from NYC is pricey but we got tickets for $129 each way from Jetblue. I just cannot fly anyone else and I also like to fly from Westchester airport.

The villain night sounds like fun.

Looking forward to hearing more plans.

Oh! I forgot to mention, in regards to your snack list, have you heard of the American Dream? I completely forgot to get one last time, but it's right up my alley ( I really should take a list, I always forget about all these snacks once I'm in the parks!). Soft serve ice cream sandwiched by slushie :thumbsup2. (available at the kiosk in the American pavilion at Epcot)

So that’s our plan for now…although it is subject to change. There are still some things that I am not sure about. We aren’t spending that much time at DHS other than at the Hollywood villains bash party on the 29th. I am hoping that maybe we get to do everything that night and perhaps the crowd level will be lower. However I do not think ALL the attractions will be open therefore I may do one morning/afternoon at DHS, just so we can catch some of the shows and parades. I just don’t know which day. I could do Sunday the 30th at DHS since I think Epcot will be crowded since it’s a weekend, but do I want to do DHS again right after the bash? I am reserving Monday and Tuesday for F+W, so they will be primarily Epcot days.

I also switched my Tokyo Dining ADR on Friday Sept 28th to Captains Grille. I thought it'll be nice to go to the boardwalk and beach/yacht club area to walk around. I really do miss that walk when we stayed at the Swan one year. It'll be our first time at Captain's Grille. Anyone have any impressions?

I am also thinking of canceling my lunch ressie on Monday for Le Cellier. However much we loved it last time, I can just get the cheddar cheese soup (yum) at the F+W kiosk, that way we’d have more of an appetite to try different things. If we go to Le Cellier for lunch, I probably will be too full to eat anything else at F+W and whats the point in that? I could probably switch things up and make an ADR for dinner somewhere before the Hollywoood Villans Bash. I am thinking Boma or Sanaa. What does everyone think?

We also aren’t spending too much time at AK, but it is not our most favorite park so as long as I can do the safari and KRR I’d be ok. DH will probably do EE a few times on the single rider and be a happy camper.

Sooo…since this vacay is all about the food, I may just keep the schedule the way it is and just switch out the Le Cellier lunch ADR for dinner elsewhere. It’s a good thing we have park hoppers too so in case we feel like hopping around we can do that too. :)

Hi ScottNY! I too love JetBlue, and was close to booking them but couldnt' pass up the 150 RT price on AA. I am crossing my fingers that there will be no screw up or delays with this flight.

I have heard of that!! I will definitely keep that on my list of snacks! It sounds really yummy. Usually I am sidelined by the funnel cake though. LOL :rotfl:

OMG! This is one of my favorite (and in my opinion overlooked) snacks in all of WDW. Course... has to be hot out. Not fun when it is cold.

Your plans look great! I think you have a great point about LC and the soup.. getting it at the kiosk might be a good option. And... if you go to the rundisney site, I believe it lists what rides will be open for the villians bash. (I think all of the true rides... just no shows) Also...I think it goes till 4am. Either way though, 3am 4am...Crazy, eh?

It should still be pretty darn hot when we're there right? If so...then this could definitely be a snack option!

4am?? Craaazy. I wonder if we'll even last that long...Part of me says that since I paid extra for the ticket I should stay till the end to get my moneys worth...but then that would mean missing most of Sunday due to our sleeping in. LOL. I guess we'll just see what happens. I think the key factor would be the weather. Does the race go on rain or shine?
