Chunkymonkey and Chubbyhubby Stuff Themselves Silly! THE END..on to the next TR!

I am going to try and crank out a lot of this TR tonight, because as soon as the work week starts, it’s gonna get a lot harder to do it on a regular basis! So let’s hope I can at least finish day 1 today! Here goes:

Day 1 Part 4:We love us some Adventure…

On our way to Adventure land, we passed by the notorious Tomorrowland Noodle Station which has never been open as far as I can remember, or at least during any of our visits. LOL

We passed by the castle again so I couldn’t resist these pictures as well:

We finally got to Adventureland! Woohoo!

4983209801_8015ef2fde_o.jpg

And of course, we pass by my most beloved snack, the Dole Whip over at Aloha Isle. I really think I was Hawaiian or Polynesian in a past life because I love anything pineapple, or Hawaiian-inspired. So of course we stop to use yet another snack credit, and all this before noon. Ack, 3 snacks in one day! I’m gonna have to slow down or else we’d run out of credits by day 3. LOL.

We decided on a Dole Whip float so as to satisfy both our thirst and craving for dole whip! Yum, this picture totally makes me want one. Right. Now.

4983210083_9d0d4405fa_z.jpg

So our plan of attack was to FP BMTRR, ride Jungle Cruise, HM, and PoC and at some point, have lunch at Columbia Harbor House. We were going to skip splash since I didn’t want to risk getting soaked. So we decided to walk all the way to BMTRR and then work our way back from there. On the way, we passed by the camel that decides to spray random unsuspecting people with water. DH stood and taunted the camel until, of course, he gets sprayed. He might as well have rode Splash Mtn at that point since he was half wet already.

4983809300_6b907fc062_o.jpg

When we got to BMTRR, we realized the wait was only 15 minutes. So we decided to get FP as well as stand-by, so we got to ride BMTRR right then!

Here are some pics from the ride. I used a point and shoot this time around, since I was scared my dslr would fly off my hand. I got the courage to do it on our last day, but you’ll have to wait for those pics. J

Each time I rode BMTRR, I switched sides so some pics are from my left and some from my right. I find it easier to take pics from my left since the shutter is more convenient when the camera is pointed at us. These pics depict the both times we went on the ride.

I have no idea why I made a face at the end of the ride, but I guess I just wanted to make a face. Note to self: Do no make unflattering faces for pictures anymore.

After doing BMTRR, we decided to head back to Liberty square to eat our CHH as well as ride Haunted Mansion. At CHH, we decide to split a QS meal, settling for the combo with chicken fingers, fish, fries, with a diet coke and apple pie dessert

4983812290_d6c155225a_o.jpg

Everything was tasty and good just as we remembered from last year. The fish was slightly over-done but I wasn’t complaining as it was still nice and hot and crispy.

We passed Liberty Tree Tavern and this cute CM was waving to everyone with her Mickey glove, just for fun. She was so adorable. She really seemed to be having a great time despite the heat. I waved to her and she waved back.

We didn’t do Tom Sawyer Island on this trip but we have visited it before.

Stay tuned for a very special post coming up…

Your Alice necklace is SO cute! Disney Couture always has the cutest jewelry!

I love how the Disney CMs are always so friendly :goodvibes I've been meaning to buy that Mickey hand for BF, he got a kick out of all the CMs wearing them when we went.

I'm all caught up and in! My DBF LOVES photography as much as you, he took almost 2,000 photos on our last trip to the World. And I'm sure he'll take another couple of thousand when we're there in October.

Can't wait to hear about the rest of your trip popcorn::

Great updates! You are right! We did do a lot of the same rides on our first day at MK. We love the Dole Whips too, and the floats (messier but yummy), but we didn't have one until a subsequent visit to MK. Thumbs up to Columbia Harbor House too!

The colors on your pictures are incredible. I love that you can see images in your sunglasses.

Looking forward to more updates and more amazing photos when you have the time.

I feel lame for not having anything more descriptive to say, but your pictures are incredible. Truly. I think everyone should see them. :goodvibes So, yes, I am loving your TR. And I love Disney Couture. I bought my best friend a pair of Bambi earrings years ago, before I even realized how much I love all things Disney, and I want to buy myself something now but just haven't gotten around to it yet. Cute necklace!

Can't wait to read the special post!! Love the pics, and you guys look like you are having a blast. We went the end of June, beginning of July and it was HOT and we were all sweaty in pics. You guys don't look hot at all! Great pics :)

Day 1 Part 5: A post with no color…literally

This is a real treat because I’ve decided to post all my pics for this particular post in B&W. It just seemed to go well with the them of Haunted Mansion, doesn’t it? I usually don’t post much B&W anymore because it is more challenging for me as a photographer to work on my color composition and processing. It’s a lot easier for me to turn something into black and white or shoot black and white in camera, because then there is less attributes to the photograph to worry about. So I first learned via black and white before moving on to color, so color to me is much more difficult. That doesn’t mean I don’t love a good B&W picture. I get a lot of requests from brides to give them more b&w pics just because they are so timeless and beautiful.

Here is DH heading up the ramp to HM. The wait was only about 5 minutes.

4983812636_6fc0da8944_o.jpg

Here’s one of the tombstones

4983813342_0010a654ee_o.jpg

And here’s Tigger in b & w

4983214553_ed755a290e_o.jpg

HM was fun as usual, we ended up with the tall skinny ghost at the end. I noticed a lot of refurbishments that I didn’t notice last time. The ride is way too dark for pictures, and I try to always respect the no flash policy during rides and shows. As we exited, we saw them starting some parade. So I managed to get these shots:

Here’s one of the spitting fountains outside Jungle Cruise

4983216149_f936b29961_o.jpg

We got on to PoC with a 10 minute wait

4983216431_53fa04e439_o.jpg

It’s always nice to see Capt. Jack Sparrow again.

As we exited I captured these shots in the store at the exit of the ride

Here was a building I liked….near Liberty Square I think?

4984509702_41db4d4f76_z.jpg

Anyways, we decided to head out of MK and back to POFQ to swim, and rest before heading out to Epcot for EMH and dinner at Teppan Edo!

Stay tuned…

I know they are super cute gloves. And thanks! I do love most of the Disney couture line. They are so wearble yet still Disney.

Thank you! Am working on the TR a lot today. It may not seem like I can get through day 1 but perhaps tomorrow I can.
Yup I like the reflection in my sunglasses, think it's a pretty neat effect.

Wow can't wait to see some of your pictures then! Thanks!

I'm in. Enjoying your pictures thus far.

Thank you and welcome aboard!

Can't wait to read the special post!! Love the pics, and you guys look like you are having a blast. We went the end of June, beginning of July and it was HOT and we were all sweaty in pics. You guys don't look hot at all! Great pics :)

Thanks! Oh trust me, we were hot. This was still early in the day. It got hotter as the week progressed, by the time we left, I couldn't think it could get any hotter or more humid. Yucky weather!

I love all the photos----can you share who you got your camera strap from ???

Thanks

Sherri

Thanks! Sure, the strap is from MegRNC.

Awww thanks so much Tina! Disney Couture rocks! Esp when you can get them cheaper on ebay lol.

Great TR so far, and I love your photos. I've got the 10-22 on my list to rent for Disney and your pics just reinforce that desire! :goodvibes

I've thoroughly enjoyed reading your TR so far, and am looking forward to the rest of your report. I hope they don't make you work too many hours so you're able to post again soon. :surfweb:

Yay! You are back too! I am looking forward to reading your TR and comparing notes about what you liked/disliked. I think we liked EVERYTHING, save for the heat and humidity!LOL, if I didn't take pictures of myself then I wouldn't have any pics of us at all, except for the photopass pictures, which I don't even like!

Oh...yes..that heat was something. I am one big freckle now. I NEVER get that much sun. I liked most of it... not to give too much away (cause details will be in my tr)...but the the transportation...ug..now THAT was something I disliked.

I agree with you on that 100%. We had the same transportation issues. I will also share details in my TR about it. Maybe it's a POP thing. :confused3 The heat was also pretty bad for us, too.

I always love B&W photos. It gives that retro look.

I like the perspective on this shot. The ground and the scaffold from the ceiling give this shot a lot of texture. :thumbsup2

This shot realize give me the creeps. It remind me of the photo they show from the movie "Back To the Future". It set the perfect mood.

HM is my favorite ride since my first trip to WDW. I tried a few time to shoot inside the ride with no flash but it is so dark and so challenge. My shot always come out nothing but noise. I have seen a few that comes out great. I am hoping if I can get the D700 for the next trip, I might able to get a few decent shot.

Ah! Dinner at Teppan Edo, I like that place. I had a great time last time when we were there, just not the stairs to get up there.:rotfl2:

Whew! I'm finally all caught up! You're updating like a mad woman!

Love the pics of the strawberry-banana smoothie and the Dole Whip float! Those are our favorite treats in MK! I could down smoothies like they're going out of style!

Love that pic of Madame Leota's tombstone. It looks awesome in B & W! :thumbsup2

You really have those self portrait shot down to science. :thumbsup2

I know you used mostly 10-22mm lens for self portrait shot. But what is the average focus length you create those shots with?? I am borrowing my friend's 24mm f/2.8. Just wondering if that's wide enough. If I am able to pick up a full frame then the 24mm might work. Otherwise the only other option is my 10.5mm fisheye which I am not sure I will be happy with.

I use the shortest focal length of 10mm for all the self-portrait shots. It's the only way I can fit myself into the shot!

24mm on a cropped sensor is a bit tight. Whenever I use the max focal of 22mm, I usually just get my face in the shot. Like a really big picture of my face, which I can do without, LOL. I'm sure you can try doing it with a fish eye, you'll probably just appear a bit distorted,

I answered you in the post above this one! Sometimes I post so fast that I don't see all the posts until later on...LOL. I answered your other post below

Thanks! I was going for that spooky look. Yeah pics in the HM were just a big blur so I gave up. Good luck with your shots! Teppan Edo was good. I would def return.

Love your trip report. Looking forward to the next segments!
:)

Thank you and welcome!

Thanks Ali! Yes, I have to update fast or else I forget. The smoothie was good, and I love dole whips. I think when it's hot out I can just sip those 2 all day. LOL.

Hmm, yes I must admit the transportation wasn't great. Especially the one day they had monorail issues and we waited 45 mins for a monorail from Poly to MK! Ridiculous, esp when it's so close. We also were in really crowded buses at times, but I kinda expected that.

I've thoroughly enjoyed reading your TR so far, and am looking forward to the rest of your report. I hope they don't make you work too many hours so you're able to post again soon. :surfweb:

Thanks and welcome! I hope I don't have to work that much too, but I have a project going live in the next 2 weeks, so unfortunately I am probably going to be busy at work! Luckily I have a DVR at home so I will sacrifice my precious TV time to work on my TR, LOL

Great TR so far, and I love your photos. I've got the 10-22 on my list to rent for Disney and your pics just reinforce that desire! :goodvibes

Hi! Thank you and welcome! I love that lens, and you should definitely rent it. It's the perfect travel lens, esp for the crop sensor cameras.

That tombstone freaked me out at first. I swore I saw her eyes open and by the time BF turned to look where I was talking they were closed. So he thought I was crazy, when we went back on it later her eyes opened and looked around and I made him see it and probably stuck my tongue out at him and went "see I'm not crazy!"
