I had posted the same post twice by accident because the firewalls at work couldn't tell if it was posted or not! haha , I had to edit this post so that it's different.
Saying hello! Nice pictures. Don't know if you've officially decided on your resort yet, but we stayed at CSR in February and found the transportation thing to not be an issue at all. CSR felt very centrally located and it never shares busses with other resorts. We were at EPCOT and DHS, in particuarly, in a few minutes.
That said, the only place I would want to stay is at the CR, but there is a pretty steep price difference.
We also did the DxDDP and we're still not sure if it was worth it. We did spend a lot of time going to ADR's, which I didn't mind, actually. However, it really was too much food and forced us to eat in a way we don't usually, i.e...we don't normally EVER eat even two full meals (app, entree, and dessert) in a day.
Looking forward to hearing more of your plans!
Wow congrats! I just got back from my Trip! We went around the same time last year too! It rained the whole time were were there! We went again this year to make up for all the rain it was awful! I don't think we are going to go again to WDW anytime soon mainly cause of planning a family department. And we want to perserve the magic the place has for us. But I have one more trip to DL and then no more for a while! Although I'd love to buy into the DVC!
I can't wait to hear about your trip! I love the Tusker House! When we go again I'm totally booking that place again! It has the best food! I'm stealing the Basmati Rice with Almond slivers from them! It was just great and I'm glad I picked that place on a whim!
Congrats on a year a marriage by the way!
I'm here and I'm definitely joining in!I am loving your PTR so far! You are so pretty!!
I can't wait to read more!
Great ADR choices! We ate at Chef Mickey's for dinner last trip and it was such a let down; I'll always stick with breakfast there from now on. (Dinner has gone so down hill!)
Where else are you thinking about booking? Details!
I love your calendar. I have something like that, too!
Hey girl! Joining in! Loving your plans so far.
Le Cellier is not 2 TS....yet. I've heard rumors that in a couple of years Disney is going to make it a signature dining restaurant![]()
Indy is DH's favorite ride too! DH is from San Diego so we make the excuse to go there when can. We drop off the puppy and then drive up there. We are trying not to do that as much this year though. Haha we are trying to get a piece of the DVC and then try to take vacations in other places.![]()
Are you guys early birds? Last trip sis & I had an early ADR at Crystal Palace at 8am, and we were exhausted. We make it every time for rope drop but waking up an hour earlier was just too much for us!For your MK day, you could always get a few rides in and then have a late breakfast at Kona.
I think that looks like a great schedule!I think the breakfast ADRs are a good idea too, because it will motivate you to get up early and then you can be at all the parks early! I'm the same way as you when I'm in Disney, though. I'm torn between making all the rope drops and sleeping in some! I always tell everyone that when I get home from Disney I need a vacation from my vacation!

I modified my schedule slightly on Sept. 4th by adding in an ADR for Sci-fi Theatre, and moving up the ADR for 'Ohana. Since I wasn't sure we were guaranteed a view of the fireworks during dinner, I made it a little earlier so we have some time to go outside and watch Wishes. So here is my updated schedule for that day:
September 4th
Morning:
Breakfast QS at Contemporary
DHS by 8am for EMH
Afternoon:
Lunch 1:10pm ADR @ Sci Fi Dine In Theatre
This is my FAVORITE TS at DHS!
Evening:
Go to MK
Monorail to Poly
Dinner 9:05pm ADR @ Ohana, Polynesian Resort
View Wishes at dinner
Now here's where I need some help. I was thinking of adding another ADR for dinner on Sept. 6th but I'm not entirely sure where yet. I was planning to spend most of the day at MK and go to DHS for EMH at night. I have several options:
- eat at MK then leave for DHS right after dinner
- eat at a Resort restaurant then go to DHS
- eat in Downtown Disney then go to DHS
- just eat in DHS
- go to Epcot, eat at Epcot, and then go to DHS (think there is a ferry that goes directly from Epcot to DHS? Not too sure if I can remember this...)
So far, I am not too crazy about the choices I have at MK or DHS for TS. I was thinking of Liberty Tree Tavern but their dinner selections are so limited and I've eaten at most places at DHS. However, this is a good option if I dont' want to spend too much time on Disney transportation.
Even though it would save time with the transportation, my opinion is don't eat anywhere that you're not excited about. This is your vacation! You want to enjoy every minute of it!
Another option is dining at a Resort TS, and I thought Cape May Cafe for their clambake buffet is a good idea since it's very close to DHS. I would take a bus from MK to Beach Club, then ferry or walk to DHS. I have not heard much about the dinner buffet here. Has anyone been that can comment?
While I've never eaten here, this is your best choice in my opinion. I read some reviews online and most people agreed that the food was really good, but the restaurant was just a little too loud. But then again, where in WDW isn't loud?
Another option is Downtown Disney. It would be nice to spend some time here anyways. The only restaurant I want to eat at though, is T-Rex. T-Rex can only accomodate a 9pm ADR which is a bit too late I think. By the time we're done with dinner, DHS EMH will be over!
T-Rex is also not on the DP but since it's not even on DDP we'd have to pay OOP for this anyways which I was willing to do. Too bad it's an inconvenient time. So looks like DTD is not likely unless I can get an earlier ADR.
Darn! I wish this would have worked out for you because DH and I love T-Rex! Granted, it is overpriced, but we feel like it definitely makes up for it!
I would really like to go to Epcot since I think the dining choices are the best out of all the parks. If I do go there, I would want to go to Teppan Edo, Chefs de France, or Rose and Crown. However, I think there would be a lot of travelling involved with this plan. Monorail to Epcot, walking all the way to World Showcase, and then after dinner, we'd have to get to DHS. I know there is a ferry on the side of the world showcase that takes you to the Beach/Boardwalk and Swan/Dolphin resorts. But I can't remember if there is a ferry to DHS as well? I dont' want to have to walk ALL THE WAY back from World Showcase to the buses.
In my opinion, Epcot definitely has the most appealing dining choices, but I think that might be too much travelling just to eat one meal. I LOVE Teppan Edo and if I were you I would be tempted to walk for it, but I think it will take too much of your DHS time!
Here's what my schedule on the 6th looks like for now:
September 6th:
Morning:
Breakfast 8:00am ADR @ Kona Café, Polynesian Resort
Monorail to MK
Afternoon:
Lunch - QS at MK
Evening:
Dinner - TBD (see options above)
Hollywood Studios EMH until 11:30pm
Any thoughts on what I should do?
