It was a cute resort! I would definitely stay there again! It just seems to be the last stop out of all the All Stars on the buses when coming back from the parks.

Day 2: Batuu, here we come!

We had a great first day in WDW! But the day I was most looking forward to was Day 2...that was our first Galaxy's Edge preview!! By then I had already seen pictures and video from Disneyland but still, being able to experience it ourselves during a preview was a real treat. We were super excited!

Ok Steve doesn't look as excited as me but maybe it's because I tried to give him a mohawk hair-do

We're obviously big fans of Han and Chewie, LOL. I was most excited to see the Millenium Falcon. That ship...it defined my childhood! My cousin had a model in his house and growing up I'd always play with it. A New Hope came out when I was only a year old so my older cousins had already seen it and were still talking all things Star Wars and had all the Star Wars toys so I've been exposed to it since I was a baby!
I guess that's why Star Wars has always held a special place in me.

We took the bus over to DHS from ASMo, and we met our friend "Chunkydust," who was coming to both sets of previews with us, over by the front of the park. We were super excited and eager to walk into Batuu for the first time! We headed in the direction of Galaxy's Edge and we were checked in by the CM's outside the entrance. This is the entrance that is closer to Baseline Taphouse and not the Toy Story Land entrance which wasn't open during previews. We headed into the "tunnel" that transitions into Batuu!! They handed out these pamphelets to all the previewers:

Batuu is ours for the next 3 hours!!!

I do have a lot of video, but it's hard to post it all since most of them are snippets. I put it all in my highlights on Instagram though, just click on Galaxy's Edge highlights.

Entering Batuu, it appeared to be more spacious than I thought it woud be...but that's a good thing as it made it feel less congested. There was so much to take in, and so much to see.
It was so cool to see things like Tie fighters and X-Wings.

And then...we saw it...the Milleniun Falcon!!
We were in awe. It was so cool to see it life-sized. I felt like a child again looking up to see if I could play with my cousin's Milleium Falcon!

CHUNKY WE'RE HOME!!!!!!

The first thing we did was make a beeline to Smuggler's Run - the wait time was about 20 minutes. It was pretty accurate. We went through the standby line, and it was so well though-out and full of detail.

Out the windows below is the falcon. It's so cool to be able to see the top of the falcon. So much detail and design!

Pre-show:

The pre-boarding section you are taken "inside" the Millenium Falcom. I died when we first walked in! So amazing!! I touched everything I could get my hands on, it was so cool to have that feeling of being inside the iconic ship!

Steve and I even got to play holochess!

Soon we were brought into our respective cockpots. I believe Steve and I were Engineers. Since it was our very first time, we didn't care which position we were. For the record there are 2 pilots, 2 gunners and 2 engineers, with the pilots being the most interactive and coveted positions.

The ride was fun - since it was just the 3 of us, there were 3 other strangers. I guess when you ride with strangers you're never going to have a mind-blowing experience, so I don't think that this ride was perfect just yet. I really liked that it was interactive though. But it's a ride definitely more fun in groups of people that you KNOW. Just sayin'

After Falcon we went to Oga's Cantina where we had a reservation. The line was really long but it moved quickly if you have a reservation. Here was our menu today. They handed them out while we were waiting. It was barely 9:30am LMAO!!

Once inside you get to see all the cool fun stuff.

Hey look, it's Rex!

We were at a standing table with another set of people. We didn't mind since we kept mostly to ourselves and they did too. Another time we went and we chatted with the people across from us so you get all different personalities. It is not someplace I'd go solo unless it was to see the place and chug a drink, I think it's better as a group.

I was hungry so ordered breakfast: The Mustafarian Lava Roll, which was very good. Like a cinnamon roll but not sticky, and had oreo crumble on it.

This was the overnight oats: It was ok, I'd pass. It was interesting but not really filling.
I thought the portion was quite small.

And here were our DRINKS. Yes there's ALCOHOL in them. It was 9:45am but its 5 o'Clock on a different planet! We're in Batuu, silly!

So we each ordered 2 drinks because we wanted to get our order in before our time limit was up (I think we had 45 mins?). From the left you have 2 Yub Nubs in the very pricey souvenir glasses. Then a Fuzzy Taun Taun, the Blue Jedi Mind Trick, a T-16 Skyhopper, and another Fuzzy Taun Taun.

Everyone kept saying the Fuzze Taun Taun kept making their lips numb but I did not get that feeling. I think I didn't have that much foam or it melted. However a subsequent time I got it I felt the numbing sensation!

We were having fun checking out all the cool stuff in the bar and listening to Rex spin Star Wars remixes.

After Oga's , we headed back to the Falcon for our 2nd ride. The wait was a little longer at this time as people started to arrive in droves. It was about 40 minutes at this time.

I think Steve and I were pilots and we have found our calling I think! It's so much fun and we actually did a somewhat decent job in that we didn't CRASH.

After our 2nd run, we went out to explore all the stores. We went into Dak Ondors and I was able to find the khyber crystals that @Lesley Wake was looking for as they were sold out in Disneyland.

We tried a Ronto Roaster too:

It was ok, I did like the sausage but didn't care for the slaw or anything else.

We explored Black Spire Outpost and found some new friends:

OK I did end up leaving with Jabba because I thought he was so unusual and cute.
I think I have to get a Chewie too though!

We went back to Smugglers Run for our 3 and last time on the ride. Oh look, our line buddies again, Zack and @amalone1013!!!
I think we waited about 25 minutes for this.

OK we did not just randomly meet in line (altough we possibly could). We met up outside the ride yay!

I think I won at chess.

This time I was gunner -my accuracy is not very good, LOL.

But yes it's more fun to ride with people you know!!!

Alas our 3 hour time slot was coming to and end. How did it go by so quickly'?!?! We had not even begun to absorb the entire space, and there was still so much to see. But oh well, good thing we were coming again next weekend!!
It was a productive 3 hours though, we rode Smugglers 3 times, ate a few snacks and libations at Ogas. Tried a Ronto Roaster and saw some stormtroopers.

I really didn't get to capture the scale and detail that went into every corner.
I sure hope we could explore more the next weekend!

They have water filling stations here. Very smart and eco friendly of Disney!

After just a taste of Batuu, we were hungry for more!! Our preview was over, but our day was not...coming up, lunch at Brown Derby and more fun in MK!​

What a fun weekend that was, I feel like I'm reliving it through your report! Such a blast to ride the Falcon as a group too. I've still never seen the alarm go off though Cant wait to hear what else you were up to! We need some more overlapping trips so we can exercise our line meetup powers

It was a really fun weekend! Glad you guys could make it down! The Falcon was so fun as a group! I think one of the reasons we haven't bothered to rope drop it since it's opened is because it's just not worth the effort to ride unless you're with a big enough group that you'd really ensure a fun and good time. When we went in Disneyland, we kept riding with people who wanted to be pilot and they did everything EXCEPT ensure a smooth ride, and I seriously wanted to hurl, hahaha.
We definitely need more overlapping trips! When is your next one?

I probably was in the workshop at Savi's. Usually Savi's is where I'll be. Droid Depot and basically anywhere else are pretty rare instances for me. But yes, definitely say hi if you can.

Looks like such a great first visit to Batuu! I agree that MFSR is more fun with people you know. I definitely had the most fun riding with DH, my Mom and sister! Doesn't help that my first time the woman next to me spent most of the ride yelling at me lol

Your pictures are making me look forward to seeing it in person. My oldest son asked me if I wanted to go to Galaxy's Edge with him this summer. And when your almost 20 year old wants to go on vacation with you alone for a week, there is only one answer!
