Just curious if anyone had taken the train to Orlando? We live in NY and had thought about taking the train. My husband is more for the train because we have never traveled by train before. I say airplane because it's cool and we get there faster ......what do you think?

I priced out train tickets from NC to Orlando and they were more expensive than plane tickets and would also take 3 days just to travel one way.

This made me really sad because I love trains.

There are many threads here about taking AMTRAK to Orlando. Just do a search of this board to find them.

I have taken the train down many times. I am traveling from Maine and it just takes a little over a day to travel one way. We tend to book a roomette so it ends up costing more then flying, but as we say or vacation starts as soon as we step off a plane, but as soon as we step on a train.

To get the best prices on Amtrak you need to book 11 months out because as tickets sell the prices go up.
