I fancy hiring one of these. Dollar do them but does anyone know which catagory of car they fall in?

Seriously - I would imagine that they are in a special category like convertables and cost extra - just a guess.

Hi Folks,
The PT Cruiser falls in to the Full Size category in the USA. The car is a different animal to the UK version, i.e. 4.0 V8 (USA) vs 2.0 4 cyl. (UK) The US version has bags of extra equipment etc. As someone who seriously considered a UK spec PT Cruiser as a car for the shopping run etc. I can honestly say that the cost of upgrading to a Cruiser is not justified as compared to another car in the same class i.e the Dodge Intrepid.

i'm recently just back from florida along with my sis and brother in law my sis had just booked an economy car as it was for just the 2 of them but on arriving at dollar in sanford there was no economy cars left so lucky them got a pt cruiser, 12 days later we arrived as had upgraded to an intermediate from alamo in sanford and what we got was a rather shabby toyota corrolla and we has 2 adults and 2 tall 12 and 13 yr old boys so seeing the diffrence in cars i was not amused and telephoned alamo to ask what category a corrolla was in and i was informed it was an itermediate although the first time i was in florida that was the same model we got from dollar and was classes as an economy so the moral is you just wont know until you get there and hope for the best especially when it comes to returning to the airport with toooo much luggage as we did

Weve hired The cruisers last 2 visits because at the time we had under 5s so by law they needed babyseats these have 2 built in the seats and to hire babyseats wiyh car was going to be 140 dollars so it worked out as good really
