I know how helpful these boards have been to me in the past. I'm hoping for a lot of help this time.
I have just been offered the opportunity to go to Disney World for Christmas with a group of my friends. I am a Disney alum and know my way around the parks. Every other time that we went was between May and June. I have never stayed on property, so this would be a first at the Pop Century. I am worried about how much this is going to cost(2 adults and 2 kids) and if it really is as crowded as "they" say it is around this time. Is there anyone else who has gone for Christmas? Any pointers? I am hoping to confirm with them by the end of the month...FRIDAY  . All help is appreciated!!!

My advice is to go. Have fun and enjoy the Christmas decorations and whatnot. Since you've been before and will probably go again this time you might want to concentrate on the holiday aspect of things more than the rides. Take a resort tour, check out World Showcase etc. Where you can fast pass, do that. Catch rides where you can and if it's too crowded just relax and go with it. At holiday time the parks are beautiful and the weather is usually excellent.

Do it....seriously you should go. Up until a few years ago we had only been in the summer months (May and July). Since we took our first Christmas trip we have decided to only go back that time of year. We have done it since and the last couple of years were as great as the first. As great as WDW is all other times of the year there is so much added at Christmas its unreal. The weather is great with the cooler temperatures. As far as crowds...it does get crowded around the day before Christmas and then on but, it won't take away from the enjoyment of your trip especially since you said you were a Disney alum anyhow. We stayed at POP for the first time this past trip and it was nice...we are used to staying in moderates so some things were a little different to us. However since you have never stayed onsite I would suggest it and I think you would love it. I am a believer that once you stay onsite you'll never go back and I'm not the only one here who feels that way. There is just such an ease of use with staying onsite that makes it so worth it. As far as cost...I wouldn't stress much over it. I would try to make your check in a little before Christmas if possible....I'm not sure of the season dates this year but as long as you check in by the last day of value season you can keep that rate for the length of your stay and it won't be bumped to holiday season rates....just something to think about to keep cost down. :wave2:
