To anyone who has posted information on the best way to handle successfully this time of the year I say thank you. Thank you for the time and effort you put into providing this information. I studied every post and took note of all the information and suggestions you gave me.
We had a great time. Rope drop was my friend and by the time it was getting to crowded we were going to the lunch I had pre booked. We then went back to our monorail resort and due to the gorgeous weather had a swim and rested. We then went back for the night time entertainment and had an evening snack at our resort. I managed the families expectations and went with the flow and had a lovely time. I used some of our fast passes for parades and fireworks which kept us out of the crowds. My daughter suffers from anxiety so planning was the key. We got a fast pass for the Christmas parade and it was brilliant the parade came towards us. We also used a fast pass for holiday wishes which they allowed us in early to. I had a booking for breakfast one morning at Magic Kingdom at 7:00am and I loved it. We got to have empty photos with us and the castle lit up. This was worth the early morning and a little longer que at some rides as they let us in before everyone else so it felt like the park all lit up was just for us and the photographer. By the time we had breakfast it still was not busy. We also saw the fireworks at magic kingdom on the 30th the dress rehearsal at the dessert party. Once again away from the crowds. When they finished we used the exit that avoided most of Main Street and went straight to a boat.
We planned to spend New Year's Eve at DHS but everyone got a bit tired and overheated so we left at about 9 to catch a bus back to our resort Grand Floridian. This was the best idea I think I had. The bus was at DHS waiting and we had a quick trip back. We then went to our room and had some showers and freshened up. We then went down stairs and watched the fireworks from the marina area. It was not crowded unlike the dock area. The view was priceless as there was a barge in front of the hotel that they let fireworks off from. As soon as they were over we simply caught the lift up to our room. We were all in bed by 12:30 happy and stress free.
Once again thank you everyone I took your advice from booking restaurants to skipping the first 2 photographs the ones further on in Main Street have shorter lines. I used bits and pieces of it all.
