We arrived on Saturday with a direct non-stop flight and had no problems with ME! Kudos to Gardengrocer.com for getting our order to us on time - actually they called before we had our room and made another stop - called again and we had our room by then.
We always enjoy staying at SSR but this was a time when we had a rotten view!! Didn't dampen our spirits though - I mean we weren't in the rooms much anyway ... and we're at Disney! We were close to DTD and for us that is a plus since we usually walk there every night and our DS's were over there constantly. The rooms were clean and anything that was missing (some dish washing soap, a blanket...) was brought to us in a very timely manner. Again, we love staying here!!
Our next day began with Donald's Breakfastaurus at AK. Alot of fun as usual but the characters were rushed a bit. We then rode EE and only had about a 30 minute wait. Took my DSIL and her DSIL and DBIL to Festival of the Lion King and was amazed all over again ... my DH and I love this show. Went back to SSR to change and get ready for our CP Pkg at Garden Grill. The food was good and it was something different for us. The CP was absolutely beautiful!! This was our first time to see this and will definitely plan on this again - WOW!!
The next day was our MGM day and had lunch reservations at Sci-Fi. We took my DS's friend with us this trip and he thought this was a fun place too. Stayed to see the Osbourne lights come on at 6PM. Really enjoyed the change they made this year with adding the music. We love TSO and enjoyed what they had done.
On Tuesday we went on the Yultide Fantasy Tour. Really enjoyed this too - alot of Disney info. The tour guides made it a lot of fun and we enjoyed learning about different customs from other countries. That evening we did one of my favorite things of the trip - the Wishes Premium Cruise. It was so relaxing and we had the perfect spot to watch the fireworks - a must do! We then docked at the Poly and went in for our annual 'Ohana dinner - we love this restaurant. The only complaint would be the service was really, really slow this time. The food was all great but it seemed to take forever to get it to our table.
Wednesday was the day my DH was waiting for. No, it wasn't the quick trip into MK to ride the Pirates of the Carribean (although we did enjoy that) ... it was his Rookie Experience at Richard Petty's Speedway. He first did a ride along with our DS and our DS's friend then went to his "classes" for the Rookie Experience. Haven't seen him smile so much in a long time - ha!!! He loved it and so did we! This was his birthday gift and I would say worth every penny to just watch him enjoy himself.
Our last day was open to shopping and catching rides we weren't able to get to earlier. Had to go to Earl of Sandwich for my holiday sandwich before we left and get my last pretzel.
All in all I have to say that this was the perfect time to go. The crowds weren't an issue at all and the weather was perfect. We didn't have to wait long for any rides and we just would get a FP for the ones with lines and go back to them. This was another truly magical Christmas trip.
Hope everyone had a blessed Christmas!
