Unfortunately, I've never seen GREAT sales on Christmas trees until a little closer to Christmas. Check out the Black Friday ads online right now, there could be one! :)

Menards had some trees at the top of their platform (the one above their holiday area). They were half price. I think they are leftovers from last Christmas or ones they don't have very many of. I got a pre-lit 7.5' tree that has both clear and multi-colored lights for $115 (you can choose to have all the clear on, all the colored on, or fade the lights between the two). It has almost 1500 tips, so it is pretty full and has 600 lights (300 clear, 300 colored). They had several other styles of trees to pick from. I had to get the display model and it didn't come with a box, but it fit into a Christmas tree storage bag thing that Menards sells for less than $6.

I wanted a tree, so I was happy to get after Christmas prices before Thanksgiving so I could use it the whole holiday season.

Walmart has pre-lit trees for under $100 as well.

We found my parents a brand new-in box one yesterday at a thrift shop. We just stopped by to see what they had and there it was. Paid less than $30 for a 6.5' pre-lit tree :) It's a nice one too. So don't rule out thrift shops.

Target has one on sale for $20 starting today. There is also one for $30 on Black Friday.

I may be at Sears on Thanksgiving Day to try to get the $230 7.5 tree. Kmart carries the same one, so I'm hoping I can get a look at it earlier in the week.

I insist on a very full tree that looks realish. We use a real tree most years, but the cost adds up pretty fast.

I got mine at Sears.. It's on layaway right now.. It was originally $299-I got it for $160. I like a good quality tree as well- my last one lasted about 7 years.

Walmart.com has a 6.5 foot prelit tree in either colored or white lights with a set of ornaments in your choice of colors for 38.00. The tree itself comes in either green or white as well. Click on the while supplies last box. That same tree they sell without the ornaments for the same price so look carefully. The ornaments are a 15.00 value if bought seperate on their website. I have two trees that I purchased from Walmart after Christmas and I am very happy with them both. They both are very full and real looking. With any fake tree you have to arrange the branches when you take it out of the box each year.
