We are going to POFQ next December, and I know that you can get a Christmas tree in your hotel room (a few different sizes and prices), but I have a few questions about it...

First, even if you don't want to pay the $50 charge to have it shipped home, do you get to keep the ornaments?

Second, can you choose the ornaments yourself? I have so many disney ornaments on my tree at home that I would want to choose my hotel ones myself to prevent duplication.

Thanks in advance for the info!

PS - If you don't want to spend that money getting a tree at the hotel, don't forget that you can just bring a few of your own decorations and put them up around the room!

It would be worth it to me if I was there Christmas Day. If I was there another time in December, then no, I wouldn't get one. Other options would be if you were driving, bring your own mini tree and decorations or if you rent a car, go to a local store like Target or Home Depot and buy a mini tree and some ornaments.

when I have a tree - it is the little one I brought at Walmart a few years ago.

travels well and cheers me up.

If you are talking about the tree available through the Disney florist, no you do not get to pick the ornaments. Each year, the Disney florist comes up with a new theme for their signature tree. The ornaments they use on the tree are not available for purchase other than through purchase of the tree. For instance, this year, the tree features special YOMD ornaments. You cannot purchase those ornaments at any of the WDW shops.

If you do not want the tree shipped home, you can keep the ornaments. They are yours. You purchased them.

The trees are expensive, but beautifully done by professional florists. The ornaments used are very nice. IMHO, you get what you pay for.

What is normally the cost of the tree and is the shipping included?

I forget what the exact cost is, but its over $300 ($365?), and no, that does not include shipping - that is an extra $50! I mean, all it is though is a 4ft tree that they are shipping for you. You can put the actual ornaments in your carry-on luggage if your carefull, you don't really need the actual tree.

Walmart has a 2 ft tree for $2, you can get lights for $1 and mini ornaments at a Dollar Store. That way you could just leave it, more room for souvenirs. ;)

Thank you. Merry Christmas!

We spent last Christmas at WL and I bought a 4' prelit tree at Wal Mart for $30. We took the little patio table from our balcony and set the tree up in the corner of the room on it. Our tree was beautiful-it also made a nice night light at night too! It came in a nice compact box that I checked on our flight down and back.

The Disney Florist trees are really nice and convienient-but I have other things that I'd rather spend my money on.:santa:

I love the idea of a tree in my room and have to have one when we are there for Christmas BUT I bring my own and decorate it with ornaments that we buy each year while we are there. Every penney I have spent on that tree and ornaments is worth it because you can't have Christmas without the tree.

However, I wouldn't spend the money for the Disney Florist -- unless I hit the lottery!!
