We just returned from our March Break trip, the weather was less then desirable, but we can't control the weather. We stayed at Cypress Pointe Resort, and we really liked it. We have also stayed at Bonnet Creek, which we loved also. Both resorts for different reasons. BC because it is a little more upscale, and more pool things to do. CP because of location, and a smaller resort, so walking to the 3 pools was very easy.We only paid $85 per night for a 3 bdrm at CP, and we also had a 2 bdrm at Cypress Pointe Grand Villas for my brother, that he paid $65/night for.
Now we are looking for a timeshare rental for around Dec 28th, 29th, to Jan 6th or 7th. We only need a 2 bdrm, but a 3 would be nice, for the extra room!
I have peeked a little, but the prices are very high, which I understand with the dates. OR should I wait, and do March Break again?
Just wondering if anyone has rented that time of year, and what kind of prices I should expect to pay? Also any names or people you may have used! Just started looking, and the Dis is so great with their info. Ran into a few people at CP from Ontario, and all knew very well about The DIs!

We've rented at Christmas before. We usually do owner rentals and pay more than at summmer or spring break, but not too bad. We usually for Christmas week get the Sheraton Vistana Fountains section for $1000 for the week. We wanted two weeks at Christmas one year and booked back to back weeks for the same year. There is another owner who usually rents her Cypress Point three bedroom for Christmas week for $1100. It was many years back that we rented from her and then we just paid $900. I'm thinking the ads with links below on TUG2.net are from the two people we've rented from before. They recently have been annually listing their units for rent at Christmas. They were both great to deal with.

If it's the guy we rented from he has the Courts (not remodeled yet) and the Fountains (beautiful remodel job) -- I'd recommend the Fountains.

You might want to take a peak at TUG2.net and Redweek.com for other listings too.

We own a Saturday to Saturday timeshare at Mystic Dunes which we rent some years. It starts the Saturday after Christmas. It is a 3br lockoff. We rent the 1br side for $1000 and the 2br side for $1400 or the whole 3br unit for $2000.

Prices are higher at that time of year in the timeshares because the resorts charge a premium price for purchase. I found a good deal on a resale on mine, but the resort was selling the same thing for more than $23,000 for the week. By the time you add in maintenance fees, that is a lot of investment to the owner.
