Hello, Baby_becky716. Do a search of the Internet for "Christmas Wedding" or something along those lines. I'm sure lots of things will pop up. For example, here's the link to the Martha Stewart website for holiday decorating: click here.

If you are looking for more of a "Disney" flavor, I know that a few brides have used the winter version of "Beauty and the Beast" as their theme. For example, if they had flower girls in their bridal party, those young girls were outfitted with Belle's deep red winter cloak. The photos were stunning.

Have fun planning!

I was married the week before Christmas! The big question is your budget. I opted for an indoor wedding from the start since the weather can be unpredictable 2 months ahead of time (and it rained on my big day). Because of our location, we decided to use silk flowers or we would've had nearly nothing. I used pink poinsettias, sprayed they with adhesive spray and then sprinkled on clear and white large glitter. For pew decorations, we used fresh boughs of fir and cedar (cut from a neighbor's tree) and dressed them up with a sprig of baby's breath and a pink bow. The church that we used had a Christmas tree in the front, we asked to remove the decorations and just leave the white lights on. It's extremely cost effective to utilize the decorations of the season (like poinsettias and white lights). I got a lot for my money when I was married, and I was a full time college student paying for the whole enchilada! And, we're still crazy for each other after 12 years!

I did a Christmas theme for our wedding last december. I have some pictures up at:

www.princessmo123.shutterfly.com

I also made cds and used a sound system so i had a bunch of christmas songs of all kinds (fast, slow, oldies, new, disney, etc.)

I used red, white, green colors...i had poinsettia napkin rings....i had christmas sleighs flank the dinner table...i had 2 small christmas trees on the cake table...i made christmas baskets for favors or gifts and wrapped them as Christmas presents...i also made up small wreaths and bows to go on the aisles at the pavilion.

Good Luck, keep us informed of what things you pick.

We had a Christmas theme for our wedding. Let me see if I can remember the things we did.

--Our cake was Christmas themed. It was all white with three layers. One layer had holly and berries, another had wreaths, and another had snowflakes (all were made out of white fondant). The GF Bakery even put icicles and “snow” on the cake stand.

--We had a large head table with the entire bridal party. We ran garland down the center of it with votives on either side. We also had our unity candle arrangement at the head of the table where we sat (it had Christmas greenery, red roses, white flowers, red hypericum berries, etc. in it).

--All our floral was Christmassy. My bouquet was deep red roses mixed with hypericum berries and with crystals in it. Both my bouquet and the bridesmaids’ bouquets had holly leaves around the base (with the pricky points cut off). We had greenery wreaths on the pews at the Wedding Pavilion.

--Our floral centerpieces were red and green in color (made of the same flowers as those listed above in our unity candle arrangement).

--Our favors were smooth & melty mints in little tins. The tins had a sticker with holly and berries on it that said “Elisabeth and Colin December 13, 2003.” The tins also had deep red ribbon tied around them. I purchased those from www.psaessentials.com –they have lots of Christmas-themed invitations, favors, etc.

--My bridesmaids wore deep red dresses.

One thing I didn’t think of doing at the time but I like the idea of is serving a traditional Christmas dinner with things like ham, turkey, mashed potatoes, etc. at the reception.

I just wanted to say how pretty you looked in your pictures! I love the way you incorporated the Christmas theme too. Very pretty!

WDW Christmas Brides,

How was the weather around Christmas?? My fiance and I are planning on having our wedding on December 20, 2007. I'm sure it varies, but how was it for you all??

I have been to WDW in December the last 6 years, and the weather varies quite a bit. Most of the time it is quite nice without a lot of rainfall on average. Typically in the parks I wear jeans and a short sleeve shirt with a jacket for mornings and evenings if that gives you an idea. I will say that it can occasionally be pretty toasty or quite chilly, but most days are pretty decent temperature-wise.

As far as temperature and weather, I only live 2 hours from Orlando, so I can shed some news. The weather is typically dry, the only rain is when a cold front is coming, and then it is usually gloomy. I live closer to the water, so I see more rain. The teperature is usually around 75 degrees, can go 60 in mornings and evenings. The wind is usually strong if a cold fron is coming. Over all December is pretty much beautiful (minus 2-3 days) all month long. http://www.weather.com/activities/events/weddings/setthedate/?from=breadcrumbs The zip is 32827. You can find out the sunrise, sunset, average and record temperature, and average rain fall.

:wave2: Christmas/Winter themed weddings are the best (okay, I'm biased). I really wanted an early December wedding at my church, but after scooping up A LOT of super sale Christmas decorations we found out the closest to Christmas we could have the wedding in the church is November 4th.

--- Theme: Winter Wonderland
--- Colors: Ice blue, silver, white
--- My dress is accented with Swarovski crystals and my bouquet is COMPLETE Swarovskis.
---

This is my cake. Its light light blue base icing with white swirlies and Swarovskis cascading down in silver wire.
--- We are using 28 Christmas trees of various sizes throughout the reception hall.
--- We are serving hot chocolate, egg nog, and sparkling apple cider
--- I found a lot of snowflake candles at Yankee Candle. They are white and silver with glitter and they float in water.
--- My mom is crocheting 365 snowflakes to hang from the cieling of the reception hall.
--- balloonsgalore.com sells snowflake shaped silk flower petals for the flower girl. I bought about 600 of them (white and iridescent white).

WOW! I am just rambling off! Your wedding will be gorgeous. PM me if you need any more tips or questions. :wizard:

I also had a Christmas themed wedding :bride: :groom::santa:
- I had poinsettias for centerpieces and on the alter. After the wedding I gave them away to everyone who helped make the wedding a dream come true.
-My bouquet had dark red roses dipped in gold glitter. I also put a small string of battery operated lights in my bouquet.
-My bridesmaids carried kissing balls.
-I put battery operated candles in the church windows (it was an evening wedding.)
-The cake was pumpkin with a cream cheese filling (yummy!)
- I put artificial Christmas trees with white lights and small gold and red bows at either end of the head table.
-The DJ played Christmas music during dinner.
- For favors, we gave away mason jars filled with homemade hot chocolate mix. We covered the jars with Christmas fabric and ribbon.
- I wore a cloak to the church/reception

I live in Maine so it was COLD on my wedding day. We were lucky enough to have a few light snow showers and it put everyone in the Christmas mood. I got married the Saturday after Thanksgiving so it was more a "kick off" to the holiday season but wouldn't have traded it for anything.

Happy Planning

I am really getting excited about having a Christmas wedding! Everyone's ideas sound sooo beautiful and wonderful. I absolutely love the wedding cake, Miranda Danda!! :thumbsup2
Thanks for the info about the weather everyone! It sounds like it'll be a perfect time for a wedding in Disney. Even if it is cool or rainy, everything will still be perfect with all that Disney magic.

Thank You Elisabeth!! You are so sweet. My christmas wreaths at the Pavilion were an idea i got from you. Your wedding video was just so beautiful. Very Christmasy. And i miss the beautiful pictures of you as your icon or avatar. I love that picture of you. I loved the bridesmaids dresses too. Everything was just beautiful.

Thank you for your kind words...my husband (well fiance at the time) thought he was being cute and told me up at the altar i looked 'not too shabby'. Uh, MEN!! LOL, but we just got our video proof and the fact that he was tearing and had a huge smile on his face as i walked down the aisle proves that i was a bit more than 'not too shabby'!!

Thanks again, take care!!
