DW discussed the idea of having a Christmas Themed Room at Hotel New York for our say in Jan. We are there between 5th - 9th, is it worth the extra cost?

And as Christmas ends at DLP on the 6th will they take them away during our stay?

I have booked a Christmas Themed room as a surprise for the rest of the family when we stay at the DLH (which is also a surprise for DS and DD) for our Pre Christmas visit 18th - 22nd December. I thought long and hard about whether it was worth the extra money and in my case, it is.

But, I am one of those people for whom Christmas is all done and dusted by about 28th December and I wouldn't pay the extra to have one at either DLH or HNY in January. I can't imagine they will creep into your room like the Grinch and 'steal' the deccies back on the 6th though!

Thinking about this, after visiting late December and over New Year, it really isn't the same for me either. Seeing Christmas decorations in Disney over that time didn't give me the same feeling. Father Christmas in the parade on New Years Day just feels weird :-/
We're going over Christmas this year with a few day before had for the build up, though I already know that to me by the 27th, it will all start to be over......but the build up and having the festive days there is really exciting!!
I personally wouldn't bother with a Christmas room as the parks will be back to normal the next day and the season will be well and truly over :( Though if you want to prolong it, than book one :)

I feel the same, would consider paying for one before Christmas but not for after. When we went to DLP for Christmas we left on the 28th and it still felt Christmassy. When we went to WDW we didn't leave until into the New Year and I hated all the Christmas stuff still going on into January, it didn't feel right.

However it would be a boring world if we were all the same - if you want one treat yourself! :goodvibes

How much is the christmas theming and what do you get for your money?

My partner and I are going back to the magic in November and are staying in the Disneyland Hotel. For us, a Christmas themed room is worth every single penny as it will make the trip even more magical than it will already be.

I pressed send without finishing. The price was £105 and that includes a little Christmas tree all lit up and decorated, wreaths on the doors, decorations in the room, Christmas stickers on the doors, a tin of cookies, sweets and soft toy. It all adds to the experience in our eyes.

Would we do it if we were visiting in January? Absolutely! It is still part of the disney experience in our eyes.

Have an amazing time whatever you decide to do

When in November are you going? We're there from 11th to 15 and were told xmas rooms not available for our dates. :(

Probably a silly question but are the decorations yours to keep when you leave or are you just "hiring" them?

You are just hiring the decals, garlands, swags, tree, lights etc. But the soft toy, cookies and a commemorative tree bauble aqre yours to keep.

I will see if I can find the thread from last Christmas where someone kindly put up pics of their room.

How do we go about arranging this? Do we email the hotel or is it arranged via disney central booking?

If you booked your holiday direct with DLP you need to call them direct, if via a travel agent you would need to call the agency. The rooms cost an additional £89 for the HNY and £105 for the DLH.

I gave in to DWs request and called DLP this morning and tried to book a Christmas Themed Room for our stay at the Hotel New York in Jan. Unfortunatley all the Christmas rooms had already been sold.

Wow, I never head about this possibility!? Does someone have photos of such a room? Is this only an option in the Disneyland Hotel and Hotel New York?
