Christmas season at a DVC resort

Hello everyone, we will be staying in Disney at Saratoga 2 weeks before Christmas. While there in years past I have noticed people who decorate their balconies with Christmas lights. Has anyone here done that? Do you bring an extension cord or purchase battery operated light? I was trying to remember if there was an outlet on the balcony but could not remember one.

Also while there a few years back there was a small Christmas tree exchange that we participated in. Do they still do that as well?
