So, I want to try and do an all disney christmas tree this year, and I don't have enough ornaments to fill our 9-10 foot live tree that we purchase each year. I am trying to come up with creative ideas on ways that I might be able to make ornaments rather than try and purchase them all at $10 each. Any ideas? I have never decoupaged (sp?) anything before, but I did contemplate that. I also thought about buying a bunch of styrofoam balls in the correct sizes to make Mickey heads and then decorate those with sequins or something. I am looking to the experts (that's you guys) for advice and ideas. Thanks in advance!!

We have a 9 ft artificial and fill in alot of gaps with the dd's Disney stuffed animal collection. We probably have 20-25 small poohs and eeyores, just add some small garland around their necks and they sit nicely in the branches. Also use antenna balls, sm tinkerbells etc. Then we don't have to buy alot of extra in case we decide to change our theme next year - never do though. We do buy a couple of disney ornaments each year, but never go overboard with spending. One year we bought a bunch of the mini disney stockings at Walmart and used them on the tree, one for each day of the 12 days of Christmas and the girls got to pick a stocking each day - that was fun. There are alot of cute ideas out there.

Disney ribbon would look nice too and would fill in gaps. I like the look of starting at the top and just letting in fall down instead of wrapping around the whole tree.

How about making Disney shaped cinnamon ornaments.
It's creative and you can also have a lovely smelling tree.

Thanks for all the great ideas. Where do you get disney ribbon? I had thought about that, but couldn't think of where I might be able to get some.

I had seen them at Wal-Mart, or you can try your fabric store.

I bought some of those little wooden airplanes from the craft dept. at Wal Mart that you paint (88 cent each), and since my GS loves the Barnstormer ride at MK, I decided I'd paint them to look like the Barnstormer plane. Once I had that idea, I decided it would be neat to make ornaments for each ride at MK that we enjoy. It may take some time, but I think it will turn out neat!

OH! I just had a brain freeze. Where did I see the Disney ribbon?? I'm so sorry I just can't think right now!!

rocky mountain hobbies has disney ribbon as does jkm ribbon

We have a 9 foot tree that we only decorate in stuffed Christmas animals. You could add a few Disney stuffed and animals to fill it up. We get lot of compliments on this tree. We have others with ornaments on them.

You can get clear glass bulbs (cheap at michaels, often 50% off) and fill with mickey confetti (make it with a mickey head punch) and maybe some of that glittery snowflake stuff. Or with curled scraps of disney paper and tie the tops with pretty ribbon, or disney ribbon to match.

You could make pom pom mickey heads. Get large pom-poms and glue 2 small ones on for ears.

Decoupage mickey christmas wrapping paper or tissue paper or any disney printed paper on to christmas balls.

Take colored bulbs and paint mickey head on them.

Take a clear frosted bulb (also cheap at michaels) and glue 2 white pom poms on top for mickey ears.

Cut pictures from disney and put them inside clear bulbs with some mickey confetti, snowflakes, or christmas tinsel. (roll them up and stick them through the hole at the top, then carfully unroll once in there with the back of a pencil).

Cut out pictures from disney (maybe with characters or of the castle) and laminate them, hole punch and put pretty ribbon through the top.
