EDIT: Prices and availability are quickly changing since opening early this morning. Wow.

They just opened until January 4, 2013.

I booked tickets for just under $230 from PIT return - direct flights. I thought we would have to drive down. Thank you Southwest. And because they have great switching policies - I will switch to the 5th or 6th of January when they open up again.

BUF is at $160 one way for some direct flights out during the period. Great price for holiday period.

I booked PIT because over the years I've started to love the airport - always a late booking for me in the past so last minute it was a big difference from BUF.

Good luck everyone!

Yeah, I was shocked! I got $110 each way on nonstop flights at good times out of BUF for our early December trip. I had prepared myself for more like $150. Given that fares now include the taxes, it's comparable to what we've been happy with in the past. YAY!!!!

Fantastic. :cool1:

I'm still shaking my head at $114 for 22nd of December - I was prepared to see at least $160 because of the way prices are going. Even the 26th the December is coming in low at both BUF and PIT today. And obviously there is no need to do that for that day - they will sell out. Good on Southwest.

Have a wonderful time. :goodvibes

Personally, I'm very disappointed. :(
Prior to this new release, fares to Houston were as low as $150pp one way. Now they're at $225. That $75 difference time 5 of us is quite the expense.
I hope they drop the prices soon. I'm hopeful for a better price for our Disney Cruise out of Galveston. Currently, they're no better than Jetblue.

:confused3

On another airline or did you mean times outside of the new release dates? Ie. SW before early November and you were simply waiting/deciding to book.

Because if so that has nothing to do with this release IMO. Flights change on a minute to minute basis with airlines all the time. Truly. For most airlines. I'm forever scanning and can turn away and it can change.

One of my $114s is up to $158 already probably due to people booking. And one BUF time is sold out already.

Regardless, I get how frustrating a rise can be - especially times five.

I checked this morning from Dallas and there was only one flight for $120 which would arrive at 11 pm. Not doable for us at all. Nothing in that range for the way home, everything was $220 each way. I hope they come down or we'll have to drive.

I booked on Southwest this AM as well! Flights from Buffalo to Fort Lauderdale direct flights Dec 30 to Jan 4 150.00 each way. Good flight times too!

I was waiting for the new dates. Our cruise departs on November 8, and we're flying home on the 17th. The SW schedule did not go this far until today. In watching the SW fares over the past 2 weeks, they were essentially holding steady at 150 for the times we were looking at.
I just hope those fares change lower soon so I can get that worry over with.

in Sept. when we need it..some of the other airlines are cheaper..what is up with that?

Got it. I knew I must be missing something. Hope it all works out for you. Soon.

I know, eh? That's exactly the reason why I was thrilled this morning and rushed on here in case some didn't realize they had opened. I had been looking at prior months and thought I would be priced out for sure when they extended the dates.

It's unreal how much has changed - you would see $49 a mere seven years ago. I used to wonder how they ran the airline on those rates. :confused3

Hopefully the rates will drop for September.

We prefer to fly out of buffalo...Toronto has over priced themselves..I loved the 49 dollar flights...too bad I can't get that deal anymore

Okay - did you try Allegiant out of Niagara International? Tons of additional costs but very low base and direct. But flight times are often very sporadic (though not at Christmas for anyone looking).

You always have Priceline's NYOP if you don't find anything and don't mind not flying direct.

Just brainstorming. :lmao: :goodvibes And I am assuming you didn't book yet. Otherwise ignore me. :rotfl2:

to the right orlando airport...darn. They were a heck of a lot cheaper! Havent booked our flights yet...what was the other thing?
