Christmas mass at Contemporary??? Disney says no news

Sheesh - This was merely asking to clarify the different info I received directly from Disney regarding religious services. Thought someone could give me insight or personal experience from THIS YEAR.

I do not need to be told about the catechism. I am a practicing Catholic who had a specifically Disney-related question.

I quoted the poster who suggested alternatives to attendance in case others reading the thread were unaware that in-person attendance is required. Only meant to provide information not commonly known to non-Catholics.

I remember years ago when they offered Catholic mass on Sunday every week over at Polynesian. We did lots of weekend trips growing up and we did mass there on Sunday.

Not the Caribbean Beach. The convention center at Coronado Springs Resort.

I don't know if Mass will be celebrated at CSR but Caribbean was not listed as a possibility.

Call the convention center at the Contemporary and Coronado Springs direct and ask. You may need to pick the number used to book a convention. They should know what's scheduled.

None of these suggestions are workable, though, for a Catholic concerned about what's called a Holy Day of Obligation, which Christmas is.

Catholics are required to attend Mass in person on these major holidays unless ill, seriously injured or somewhere there's no Catholic church within a reasonable distance. Dangerously bad weather is another exception to this obligation.

It's a very serious sin for a Catholic not to attend Mass on these holy days when conditions permit attendance. Finding a church and getting to it become part of a devout family's travel plans.

Wow, thanks for the lesson that I didn't really need from you. It was really up to the original poster to either take me up on a suggestion or disregard it. I was really just trying to be helpful and provide what I thought was a viable option, especially watching their own mass through a live stream.

When you google or look at Disney's website, there is a Disney Park Panel reply from 2022 that mentions times for Catholic and Protestant services at Contemporary and Caribbean Beach.

Unfortunately, PlanDisney (the former “Mom’s Panel”) is not always correct. There’s even a disclaimer at the bottom of the page something to the effect that the answers are strictly the panelist’s and not necessarily representative of Disney.

Just wanted to update anyone who is interested. I just got confirmation that there is definitely a Christmas eve Catholic mass. This was on the phone with Contemporary. They did not have a time yet and nothing yet for the day. At least I know there is something as it would be easier than Ubering offsite with my kids.

I'll keep this updated if I hear anything else.

Thank you for sharing this good news! We attended services at the Contemporary for Easter a few years ago and it was very nice. I'm so glad they're still doing it.

Sorry you had to put up with a few nasty comments as you tried to get this information, but that's just the world we live in, I guess.
