Whilst reading theChristmas events section of Brits guide I noticed they mentioned a Christmas market in Disney village.

Does anyone know anything about this as we are going to DLP on 11th November for 4 nights and my wife would love another shopping opportunity?

Thanks

When we were there last year around the same dates in November the Christmas season had just started. Market I recall didn't start till later in December.

I have had something from Cresta saying the market is from Dec 9th to jan 1st. Sorry :(

My beloved Christmas Market - I don't have anything else to add, just couldn't let a mention of the Christmas Market go by without my involvement - my love of the market is well known in here!

unfortunately we missed it last year because we went in November. We will miss it again this year as we are going in November and it doesent start until about the 5th of December. Never mind still plenty of shopping opportunities to be had. :wave2:

Indeed - it starts up near Cafe Mickey and runs all the way to outside Annette's Diner - lots of wooden huts with people selling arts and crafts, foods and drinks and tons of great nik naks. It warms the place up and it makes a very cosy atmosphere.

Point to note is that these are not Disney stalls - they are independent traders who have paid to be there - makes a nice contrast to the Disney all around.

Sorry Steve but I was very disappointed with the Christmas market - you can see stalls like that anywhere on a Saturday afternoon!!! (Please don't punish me by withholding my birthday banner!!!!! ;) )

The content may not be that original and we only bought 2 things but I thought it added to the whole atmosphere rather than being a great shopping experience. Without the market it's all pretty quiet after 8pm.

I knew you wouldn't be able to let this one pass without commenting Steve :teeth:

Last December when we were there, there was a Russian Market in the Village. I wouldn't say it's a fantastic shopping opportunity but it creates a nice atmosphere. The only things we bought were a couple of magic tricks and a set of wooden Russian dolls.... the ones that get smaller and smaller and fit inside each other. There is no mention in the brochures this year of a market in the Village...... is there ????

I have read about it somewhere for 2005.
We really enjoyed looking at the knicknacks and they had a stall with chocolate coated strawberries which were to die for.
Our children dragged us past there at every possible moment.

I have the DLP map for the xmas season and it doesn't mention the market at all. When I spoke to Disney today [regarding my booking] I asked them about the market. They had no information about it at all.

I knew I had seen it . It was in the AP magazine.
The dates are the 9th of december until the 1st of January.

I had got really despondent thinking it would not be there. :cool1:

I hope your info is correct, I love the market atmosphere, not so much the goods.

My enthusiasm and excitement is endless when it comes to DLRP, as people on here will tell you, and when it comes to the Christmas Market it just brims over! When the parks are closed and the night is drawing in, it adds so much atmosphere and colour, not to mention cozyness to the Village - a true gem and something we very much look forward to wandering around.

Nice to meet you by the way :wave2:
